Funny you should ask.  It is indeed.

:o
All this optimism is weird.
Smith III was impressed that Colvin the rookie played as he did against an veteran such as himself...

Good News/comments indeed...

Quote:Sad but true.  It's impossible to appreciate the fact that there are areas where the team might be getting better because there are those incapable of seeing anything but the W-L record. I understand their frustration, but that usually comes from a lack of perspective.  The team is coming from a very deep hole and trying to rebound.  They're doing this in a very unique way that's never really been tried before in the league, and it's a painful process.  Hopefully the recognition by others that the team is headed in the right direction will turn into more wins than losses in the very near future.  If not, we start all over again.

Starting over again isn't an option. We the Jaguars are definately on the proper path...

I like what I see out of Colvin so far, but I want to see it again.  A lot more.  I think there's potential and talent there.  I hope he becomes an impact player for us next year along with Telvin Smith on that defense.

All he says is..."we have a young team, very talented, pride, lot of heart, etc. And you'll be hearing good things from them soon"

I'll get the pitchforks.

Agreed...

His play will progress as his NFL experience progresses. He's looking to be that "Shut Down" corner that I/we envisioned...

Quote:If someone compliments the Jaguars

Optimists:"See. We told y'all were improving!"

Pessimists:"He's just saying that to play nice. He didn't mean it!"

Someone disses the Jaguars.

Optimists:"What does he know? Nobody respects us!"

Pessimists:"Even the media sees that we stink!"

Do I have this correct?

I'm unsure how insulted I am that you have not included the agnostic point of view

We don't know and can't possibly know

prepare to receive action from my lawyers whilst I drink Dr pepper and attempt to perch more comfortably on the fence
We do hear 'good' things about the Jags... mostly from other teams who desperately need a win and look forward to coming here for a relatively easy one!

That's why people call us 'the feel good team'... we make everyone else feel better about themselves.

I don't know
Quote:God forbid we form an opinion based on stats, lol You people are insane.
Stats don't always show the whole story. Maybe the Defense would have better stats if the Offense didn't stink so badly.

So wait, are you trying to tell me that we're all on the same team here, and this if this thing does fail; we all lose, and therefore we should cheer on the positives while hoping they fix the negatives, because that's all we can really control?

Are you sure you're not the real french-fry technician here? Tongue

Starting over again is always an option until such time as you see the kind of progress that is to be expected of a rebuild.  We can't continue down a path if the team keeps winding up at or near the top of the draft.  I wouldn't say we're definitely on the right path, but I'm hopeful that's the case.  We'll know soon enough.  Year 3 is the lynchpin.  If the team doesn't show marked improvement on the field, it's time to question the process.

Or if you are the Jaguars. Question the process, but then give them 3 additional years just to make triple sure things aren't going in the right direction.

I wouldn't expect anything less from TMD Jr.

Oh, the wit. the wit.

Says the guy who bowed to the throne of Gene Smith even after selecting the following people.

Eben Britton, Derek Cox, Mike Thomas, Jarett Dillard, Zach Miller, Tiquan Underwood, Scotty McGee, Deji Karim, Austen Lane, Larry Hart, D'Anthony Amith, Tyson Alualu, Rod Issac, Chris Prosinski, Ccil Shorts, Will Rackely, Blaine Gabbert, Jeris Pendleton, Mike Harris, Bryan Anger, Andre Branch, and Justin Blackmon

I can get business cards made from VistaPrint with GM on them too.

I think you missed your calling in politics.

Says the guy who blames the coach after acknowledging that^^ who's-who list of nfl superstars they had to work with when they signed on.

Players not plays.
