Pressing the reset button every other season isn't a way to sustain success.

Holding on to bad coaches just for the sake of continuity isn't either....

Winning breeds continuity, not the other way around.

Belichick was on his way out of New England after failing in Cleveland before Brady took over. He certainly didn't have the look of a HC at the time.

Belichick didn't really "fail" in Cleveland. He built that team up to a division winner, and won a playoff game there, as well as the league's best defense.

This is not a troll job. I have similar concerns. I'm not worried about Bradley celebrating a win. But I'm not sure he's the coach that will be able to game plan and lead a team to playoff wins and eventually the superbowl. Just because someone doesn't completely buy in with teal glasses doesn't make them a troll.
Quote:Because he's a players coach and they love him. It shows me that he cares and loves coaching this football team. Jesus I'm sick and tired of seeing the same people looking for every little thing to complain about. Are you a Jaguars fan or just a fan of complaining about them. Root for somebody else if your just gonna constantly [BAD WORD REMOVED].

He's 5-18.  I'm glad he cares about the team.
Quote:

Is he going to have "rookie" mistakes and learning curves? Yes, and so does every "rookie" Head Coach.

....um, he's not a rookie head coach anymore. That ended week 17 last season.

I guarantee I'd love for the Jags to be awesome like the rest of us.  However, leadership is obvious and I see too many indicators from Bradley showing he lacks it.

And you think there's a HC out there that would have a winning record with this roster??

The weakness of the roster is a fair point but you've got to have a legitimate HC to lead the team for when they do build the roster.

I don't trust at all that he could prepare a team for the playoffs much less the Super Bowl.  He wanted them to enjoy the win yesterday like it was the Super Bowl.  Teams will fail if they live on extreme emotional highs and lows.  Why do you think all championship coaches are so level headed?

I think this roster is more talented than some of you seem to.

I do think that a head coach such as either of the Harbaugh's, Reid, Belichick, et al, would have a significantly better record than 5-18 over the last 2 years.
Quote:I don't find the postgame speech an issue; because frankly, they need some positivity after losing so many games. He's a players coach. Now, that's not always the best choice. However, if I played the game, I'd want to play for him. Is he going to have "rookie" mistakes and learning curves? Yes, and so does every "rookie" Head Coach. The coaches you all name have been coaching for years; with tons of experience and high repuability. I think he will be a great Head Coach; but like all of our rookie players, he will need time to grow. Managing a defense or a specific coordination is much different than the entire team. He's learning. I have faith in him and will continue until I see otherwise. It's year 2 (not even complete) of his tenure. I know we continually suck and have sucked for a long time. That doesn't mean we will find success right away. I laughed and felt like jumping with them!

GO JAGS!!

He's 23 games into his head coaching career...that's defined as a rookie?

Maybe we can renew his contract and pay him twice as much while he figures out how to use timeouts.
A winning record with this roster? What are you talking about?

HE BUILT THIS ROSTER!

Geez, when will people get it? He owns this roster and you can't give him a pass on it.

Agreed...

The team is more often than not simply not prepared and seem caught off guard by what other teams bring to the field.

Starting with a gutted roster and a team full of rookies at the beginning of the season, there is clear improvement.  Accomplishing not only the win, but some of the stats as well shows very good leadership.  Not to mention the fact that veterans free agents actually want to come and play here.

Let's see what people say after next week's game.  It's obvious people are on a high this week.

Veterans want to play here?  We have 1 good free agent signing under Caldwell/Bradley so far (Marks).  Who cares if they want to play here if they suck.

Who, other than his old Seattle players wanted to come play here for him specifically? Gerhart wanted the opportunity to start.

Someone needs a primer on the role of an NFL General Manager.
Sigh...  some people just don't understand building and growth.

He built this roster? Wow, I had no idea. Well then what the hell are we paying Caldwell and Polian for? Seems like a huge waste of Khan's $$$. Someone should alert him to this.
Most free agent will play where ever they get the best paycheck.

Wrong.
Pete Carroll is the epitome of getting fired up.

Gus and the rest of the players, front office, etc. deserved that game.    PLUS IT ALSO ILLUSTRATED THAT JOE ROCKHEAD WAS ACTUALLY COACHING THE OTHER TEAM.
