Did you use down riggers? Those boys are down there.
We called them TMDs.

I"m not a football coach, and my suggestions would only be from a fan's perspective. But I'm also not a cancer doctor but I can tell when a cancer doctor is not doing a good job. You look at the performance of his peers. In Gus's case, it's not pretty.

Can't just let them have this win can you?
They have had what.. 2 Drafts now? They are rebuilding this team from the ground up after last year.
Several rookie/2nd year players on the starting roster. This was a huge win for the TEAM regardless of the record.
The first 4 weeks there was a revolving door at several positions. The fact that our D gets better every week tells me Brady is doing something right. But with 6 rookies on offense it may take a bit longer for them to get things going.
Who knows if Brady is/isn't the answer. But I don't presume to know the answer either. I will wear my Jersey every Friday to work and Every Sunday to the Bar. Win or lose I will be a fan. Usually with a rebuild like this a Coach will get 3 seasons to wright the ship (Mularky got the short end because of the owner change.) If after next year we are still sub .500 then yea start looking for a different coach.
Calling for Brady's job in the first half of his second year of taking over a complete $h*t show is plain stupid. Lets revisit this subject at the end of next year's season.

Nobody expected us to be in contention for the playoffs this season. How fast is the speed of progress from the start of this season to now?

Quote:So in your mind, does "better" mean progress or not?
I think all the years of losing have severely warped people's sense of reality. Yes we've been bad for what seems like forever, but blowing it up and starting over every other year will only ensure we end up like the Raiders, who, by the way, have been bad for much longer than we have and have yet to win a game this season.

Before yesterday, no one here would have agreed that 1-6 to start the season is "progress." I guess it's teal glasses week.

Gus is a well paid NFL head coach...he's 1 of 32.
And after 23 games, he has pretty much sucked if not regressed.

I am not suggesting firing him or blowing anything up. My main beef is people who say "give him a pass because of the roster" bovine excrement. He and Dave built it, you can't use it as an excuse for futility!!!!!
The man deserves time, I understand it. But the results need to be progressing, not stagnant, not regressing.

HE BUILT THIS ROSTER!
Geez, when will people get it? He owns this roster and you can't give him a pass on it.

Actually, if you look outside this MB at all of the pundits, almost all of them had us winning 4 games or less this season. But they also said this team was headed in the right direction. Is it possible that they knew something we didn't? Hmmmm....

A lot of time. At the beginning of last season, 1 draft ago, this team was in the converation as one of the worst of all time. You think you can just coach em up and all of a sudden they are set? No. Give it time, we'll know if the ship is heading in the right direction soon enough. Now's not the time.

So again, are the results from the start of the season until now showing progression, regression or stagnant?

You're expecting to see progress in the form of wins. I prefer to see it in the personnel. Last year, we had a lot of guys on this roster that aren't here now, and those who we replaced them with are mostly rookies. Are they an upgrade to those we had last year? That remains to be seen. In experience, no. Not right now. In talent? Yes, they absolutely should be, and I think they're starting to show that.

Signed,Rex Ryan and Pete Carroll...Wins SB and keeps same roster and is now 3-3 a few months later. Musta been the roster?
Then theres Oakland, Carolina, Tennessee, Buffalo, Miami, Washington, Browns.....all stellar coaching
Can't keep firing coaches.
If the team is in the same boat next year? I'll concede.

I'll be standing with you, pitch fork in hand, if we don't see a competitive team during the latter part of next season.
