Quote:Gus is a well paid NFL head coach...he's 1 of 32.
And after 23 games, he has pretty much sucked if not regressed.
pretty much this
Quote:I am not suggesting firing him or blowing anything up. My main beef is people who say "give him a pass because of the roster" bovine excrement. He and Dave built it, you can't use it as an excuse for futility!!!!!
The man deserves time, I understand it. But the results need to be progressing, not stagnant, not regressing.

and this ^^
So TMD, you don't want Gus fired?
Some people are awfully upset the Jags won yesterday. But you message boarders aren't smart enough to comprehend how smart I am.
Don't worry, come monday after another loss they'll all be happy with their un-contested complaining.
The players are playing hard for him and still bought into his message even after a bad start. Bradley needs to be himself and define himself. I don't ever remember there being a coach like Carroll and people were saying the same thing about him.

It is really strange

This is a repeat of year 1. Last year guys "stuck with him through a rough start."
What do we do if we do the same thing again next year?
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, fool me three times?

He should be fired if year 3 is anything like year 1.... nobody is claiming otherwise.
The team needs significant improvement the rest of the year and then continue that for year 3.
Got the 1st win yesterday, now let's hope it keeps going.

What do we do? LOL. We sit and watch. And if we want, we can even waste our time playing message board GM.

Chief Like you I feel he and Caldwell have made a mess with this roster.......but I look at Oakland who went a totally different path going with age and experience. Right now which one would you rather be? The old group or the young group.I guess we just have to sit back and see.

Immediately? No,
I never did say I want him fired
right now.
At seasons end? Possibly.
So this new anti-Bradley thread is because he gave a positive post game speech.
I can't wait to see what's next.

It's because of multiple reasons. He's proven inept as a head coach thus far. His post game behavior for a 1-6 football team is just another indicator showing he lacks the leadership necessary to lead a team to a Super Bowl.
It's a win and that's great but he behaved as if they just won a Super Bowl. Give the guys props but wow!

Well thank God you straightened all that out.
Where can I get a copy of this book on post-game etiquette. It sounds quite interesting.
OK Gus is now 5-18 in his first 23 games as Jags head coach.
He will obviously finish out this season and probably be here all of next season.
What are your REALISTIC expectations for improvements, record wise, for the rest of the season?
Matching last years win total of 4? Surpassing last years win total or 4?
Is anyone going to be happy if the Jags end up winning less than 4 games this season?
Gus actually had the Jags fans feeling good at the end of the year last year, by going .500 in the last 8 games, esp after the fact that they lost JB for all those games.
Unfortunately, that momentum was lost in the 0-6 start to this season.
Where will this first win on Sunday take the Jags for the rest of the season?
It will take the Jags only as far as Gus can lead them.
Come on Gus, the Jags future is in your hands, it's up to you how the rest of the season plays out.
Can Gus lead the Jags to a better record then last years 4-12?
Let's hope so.

I'd say it was because of an over the top post game speech.
Could you imagine Bill Parcells acting that way after a win leaving the record at 1-6?
So...I'd just like to say that last year, everyone brought up how terrible our defense was and how Seattle experienced no change on theirs.
Based on the last month or so...anybody think that they're missing Gus as our D improves and theirs falls off?
Just food for thought.
Bradley should have said to the team:
"OK we won, big deal. It was just Cleveland! But you message boarders can go ahead and be all happy if you want but that doesn't change the fact that we are 1-6. Cyprien and Gratz, you two were awful and Dave should have never drafted you clowns. Jedd, we may have won but you've got to take the shackles off of Blake! I hearby resign as coach and nominate Jim Harbaugh to be my replacement! See you all at practice on Tuesday. "

Their defense improved after Gus left and they won 3 straight playoff games giving them a SB title.
Their defense when Gus was there the last year blew a giant lead in their only playoff win that season and had to be bailed out by a last drive score.

And that proves exactly what? That people have different personalities?
