Quote:Actually, if you look outside this MB at all of the pundits, almost all of them had us winning 4 games or less this season. But they also said this team was headed in the right direction. Is it possible that they knew something we didn't? Hmmmm....
Exactly. Perception, expectations, patience, progress. Many of these posters lack all.
Quote:So again, are the results from the start of the season until now showing progression, regression or stagnant?
I'm not sure what you're getting at but I'd say the Jags have regressed or are stagnant. They started the season like gangbusters and have been subpar ever since. There have been a few bright spots but plenty of bad to counter the positives.

The thing is, some people aren't very patient and want results NOW! I say the team is still headed in the right direction under the
leadership of Coach Bradley.
No offense to anyone here but someone needs to take their meds because I see the same poster over & over again. Always someone who thinks exactly the same way as TMD, which seems to always bolster his opinion. TMD has always hated Bradley (see Chip Kelly comments). He needs some validation from other members (real or not). It's getting quite old.
As a fellow business owner, I've always respected you Chief but you seem to have become somewhat jaded recently. Losing can do that, I get it. Recently, however, it's turned to downright negative comments and a sense of gloom & doom. No one is blowing sunshine up anyone's butt, but don't you have to wait before making comments like that. It's not like we control any of this.
If you can't enjoy the ride, what's the point of the journey?
Just my .02. I don't post much but it's grows tiresome seeing the same comments over & over.
If it's wrong to celebrate a regular season win like that and Bradley being the right coach are two different stories here.
Is it cool for him to celebrate? Heck yea... Who cares?! We won and it's ok to celebrate and be enthusiastic.
Is Bradley the coach to lead this team to a Super Bowl? That's a totally different story here. Would this team be better with a Harbaugh or Reid? Probably but guess what.... They coach the Chiefs and 49ers so unless you got that clone machine, we won't have them any time soon.
Why does everyone find something to complain about, why can't we enjoy this win. We are getting better, especially on the defense side of the ball in the last 3 games. Rome wasn't built in one day. Give this organization time to get everything together, we are playing more rookies/2nd year players than veterans. Teams don't just go from firing a head coach to playoffs with a less talented roster. Give them time, it will come.
Rex Ryan and Pete Carroll would have this team in better shape than Gus. No doubt!

Stagnant or regressed? Do you even watch this team? I'm really starting to think you don't. They went from completely god awful, to competive, to a win. Is that what regression looks like?

If you watch the team and they are playing well and competing with good teams but losing that's one thing. The Jags have been an embarrassment most of the season.
Yes they won yesterday but statistically at this point the 1 win is an anomaly. Let's watch the game next week before we consider them progressing.

I remember reading all of the pundits' predictions for the Jags and thinking they were crazy. There was no way we would only match our win total from last season this season. How could that be if we were headed in the right direction? But admittedly, I didn't realize how many rookies were going to be thrust into starting roles and how much their inexperience would show in the early stages of the season. That being said, I'm glad they're all out there, learning together. Instead of upgrading 1 or 2 positions each season we decided to upgrade 5 in one season. The results should start to show by the end of the season. If not, I'll be right there with everyone else saying how bad Bradley is. After 16 games, if there's no progress in the young players, that's on the coach.

And Gus would be 3-3 with the Seahawk roster.
Ryan..lol....he's into football because he has a foot fetish.

What I'm getting at is the team has absolutely improved since the start of the season.
Started like gangbusters? Perhaps in the first half of the Eagles game. What were the results there?
How many points have they allowed against opposing teams over this first 7 games. Is it better or worse?
I just don't get the "regressed or stagnant" comment.

It was probably a bad anecdotal reference by me in regards to Bradley's celebration. My point was just it's more of his immaturity showing.
He's a great guy and I'd love to play for him but he lacks maturity in preparing this team and handling his role as HC. That was my point.

And they'll probably lose next weekend but that doesn't mean progress isn't being made. Rookies are learning. Even Bradley's learning. A lot wanted a seasoned coach, but Caldwell chose what he saw as an up and comer. Take the lumps and keep going. He'll get better or be fired, whining does nothing but irritate everyone, especially after a win. Go smoke a peace pipe with the Chief and come back around in 20.

Pete Carol seems to celebrate and be enthusiastic a whole lot. If we keep winning, you won't care.

I don't think you're considering the competition they were "competitive" against. Titans and Steelers are not the creme of the crop.

Ryan's got the same record with a more mature roster. Fail.

Ok, you're perpetually miserable, i'm done.
