Been saying it since met him at a&am.. He's soft. You don't just develop that mean streak. Hopeful he just gets stronger
Rewatching today's game...

Joeckel seemed lost on a play, totally whiffed on several plays and even got blown up and put on his butt on another.  The dude is not playing like the #2 overall pick.  I'm just hoping he needs time to develop but with each passing game my hope level goes down.

Well Caldwell did go to A&M and claimed he saw the best player in that draft. Folks need to start to question this dude's eye for talent. It's a shame our best gm was the first we one ever had.

Quote:I'm about 5 games away from throwing around the bust label. Patience is running out with the 2nd overall pick for me.

So in other words just one full season and you know if a player is a bust or not?  Glad you aren't the GM.
he should consider steroids

Luke is a zone tackle.  He's not a road grader.  He's more athletic than strong.  He chips, cuts, and gets to the second level with ease.  But he's not a power guy.  He's basically still a rookie this year too.  It took Monroe 3 years to come into his own.  The Oline as a whole played better the last two weeks.

Didn't watch him specifically this week. Did appear to blow an assignment on a blitz and allowed the DE swat Blakes ball down. That's gotta get fixed.
I don't think he's lived up to the hype he had out of college but I'm willing to give him some time
The line gave up a sack. Who gave the one up?

Pazstor.
C'mon, some of you guys overreact...

The line gave up 1 sack...  Our running game still can't get it going, but maybe that's due to the fact that we had Toby playing and a converted QB playing the majority of the snaps.

Maybe Storm Johnson can give this team some sort of spark.

Joeckel didn't do great, but he held his own and didn't allow a sack, which is something positive to build on.

FWIW, every lineman was graded positively by PFF. The right side was positive in both pass and run blocking.
Lol at the overreaction in this thread. People seem to forget the days of Ephraim Salaam and Guy Whimper.
Quote:He's not even a tackle.

Nope, he's a guard. But my statement stands.
I don't think he's played 10 regular season games yet and people are already calling him a bust. Lol
He played good yesterday.  Not quite sure why he is the new whipping boy.

I saw him get beat pretty badly on one play and it was the first drive and the Jags still converted.
Guilty..

I've been pretty hard on Joeckel, but I thought he played better yesterday.

He still lacks a mean streak..."and all that kinda stuff"
lol Luke "and all that kinda stuff" Joeckel

Quote:You have a bad memory. Freeney schooled Monroe the first game of 2009 and didn't play in the second matchup.

This! I seem to recall Freeny putting that signature spin move on Monroe leaving him swinging at air! I think Joekle needs an offseason in the weight room. I'm giving him at least until next season before throwing bust out there.
