Quote:To be fair, a lot of people considered Joeckel the top prospect in that particular draft. Hindsight is 20-20. Joeckel looks like he has stayed out of the weight room since being drafted, because he just gets pushed around way too much.
It's just sad for the team... a top pick, wasted on a tackle when we already had one, and then we let our established one go for this prospect who so far is turning out to be less than the tackle we had...

I hated the Monroe trade, at first, too. I guess I technically still do. Monroe never looked this bad.
Joeckel so far has not looked good. He was beat a lot today.
*Edit because ios autocorrect stinks.
He's a wimp. He needs to lift some big boy weights
Joeckel needs to get a lot better.....
We basically spent a #2 overall pick to downgrade the LT position.
He gets knocked down so much I started calling him Luke Topple.
Thank you, I'll be here all week, tip your waitress, try the veal.
A month ago I said Luke is bad and I was a no-nothing, impatient jerk who doesn't understand football.
Nows it's a consensus that Luke is bad...
And I am probably still a no-nothing jerk. :/

Unfortunately this is true.
In tonight's ozone, JO said Boscelli said LJ had his best game today.

Maybe I need to rewatch the game, but I think most of those sacks were coming straoght from the interior

Yeah but some on here would have you think otherwise.

Wasn't Boselli the one saying that Brewster was looking good in the pre-season though? Or was that Lageman? Or am I completely making stuff up? I can't remember, but I feel like either Boselli or Lageman lost some credibility this pre-season when they defended Brewster.
(Note: This isn't to say anything about Luke's game today; I didn't get to see the game. Had some other arrangements to attend to.)
Joeckel got beat badly a handful of times tonight. It may not have lead to any sacks (mainly because I log Bortles tremendous ability to sense pressure and climb the pocket) but he certainly isn't stonewalling DEs like you would like to see your top 2 draft pick franchise LT do.
Every play I saw of Jokel he was leaping to the ground in front of players to block them or being pushed back into the pocket by a piece of paper that was flying around the field. We get rid of Monroe because he didn't fit this stupid freaking zone blocking scheme, can someone hunt down and beat Shanahan for inventing it or whoever was that stupid to come up with it?

I think he was a little drunk
This is ridiculous
im not counting last season as he played about 8 snaps at left tackle so he has played about 6 games and was picked at number two as one of the better players in a bad draft
Jared Allen handed it to Jake Matthews at times last night... Same with Clemons to lewan
And I very much doubt all 3 will bust
Tackles are put out on an island against the best pass rushers in the league it takes time to find your feet
He may never be worth the number 2 pick but we made the best of a bad job odds are he will still be a lock.at left tackle for the next few years

Don't sell yourself short, HighScore. There's no "probably" about it, friend. :-)
After watching a replay of the game, Joeckel still looked to get bullied off the line more times than not...
Blake saved himself and Joeckel from a few would-be registered sacks.
This guy needs to step it up.
