Quote:Just face it. Y'all and the staff was wrong on the Blake not starting situation. Like I said before. It's either you have it or you don't.
no man, the staff was right, they're right about everything

blake finally was ready at the half
Quote:I'm torn because I really don't feel Bortles is stepping into a stable situation. Rookie wideouts and linemen.

But it is nice to see this next era in our franchise unfold.
Let these young players develop together. They will be better playing together than with Bortles on the sideline. This goes for OL and receivers.
I'm not worried about Bortles behind the line, he's mobile and durable Bortles will make them better.

Quote:He's more mobile than Henne, but let's make sure we put this into proper context. The Indianapolis line isn't exactly a juggernaut out there, and they weren't really prepared for Bortles. Let's see how things progress for him as teams start to game plan specifically for him. I think over the long haul he should be fine, but there are going to be some ugly moments along the way. Allowing him time to develop has hurt absolutely nothing here.

Keep in mind BB will get to game plan specifically for him as well.  It is a bit of an offset in the game play.

That said I'm not going to make believe he didn't throw a pick six.  The DB read the play and baited him.  Those are teachable moments.  He should have the football IQ to improve.  That is the nice part of it all.  He has upside.  It is going to be a process.

The pick 6 was ugly, no doubt, but what he was able to do before that is why I'm excited. They brought pressure and the pocket started to collapse. I was waiting on him to pull a Henne and tuck the ball while standing still and waiting on the rush to swallow him, but he found an opening and escaped the pocket. It was truly refreshing to see
Quote:does Henne make that play, or is that another sack?

Are you seriously asking that? You can't be serious.

Wish I could find the gif someone posted last week of Henne taking a sack on almost exactly the same play. I think that would pretty much answer that
I do agree that this line is a real concern, but if we were waiting for them to look good to play Bortles, that day wasn't going to come. The second half should show why clearly. They still looked bad, but not "38 yards of offense in a half" bad. The offense can still function with them, with only a change at qb. Make a few throws, back the defense off the line, and even a few running lanes show up.
FBT, you are wrong.
How did Big Ben survive in Pittsburgh for like the first 5 years??????? their line was not far off from ours...

FBT??
If we're gonna start threads pointing out every time someone on this board is wrong...it's gonna get awful crowded on here!

When you are rarely right you hang on to the times you are. :teehee:
if you are the biggest parrot for the company line. eventually people are gonna call you on it. especially when your defending the indefensible

I am sorry buy I am thrilled Bortles came in - Welcome to the new age!

I find it interesting to watch the henne defenders who supported the party line denie thier position to try to convince themselves that they never were homers. It takes character to admit when you were wrong.

What I find funny is the fact that nobody here is a Henne defender, yet the accusations of such continue.

Btw, if you're going to try sounding high minded, it's deny.

I'm seriously concerned about reading comprehension on this board.

What a blessing to be never wrong.

What was wrong? Has he developed or not? Does he look exactly the same as he did on, say, his pro day? Apparently so in your eyes. Because, in order for me to be wrong, that would have to be the case.
