Quote:Defense was playing with a 30+ point lead when Bortles got put in. Wait until next Sunday to judge how much better Bortels is gonna make the o-line.

I expected that excuse. However the clots were blitzing the rookie a lot. There was no let up in the pass rush.

When you're up big you blitz even more. This is the real season which means these dudes are out there trying to pad their stats any chance they get. Colts were bringing it at Bortles he's just good enough to elude it. That excuse won't work. Had he started the beginning of the year we could've pulled out one or two of these games. I'm not with blowing off seasons for development reasons. Go win.

lol FBT is hilarious

he types the most words and yet, never says anything

i mean, the guy actually thinks that Bortles was magically ready right at the Half. i mean, he was ready right at that point. the light finally came on and Bortles was ready to play at the Half......

Quote:My point was simple. It hasn't damaged anything.
It that case you shouldn't be afraid to answer the 3 questions you quoted, but ducked.
Quote:He's more mobile than Henne, but let's make sure we put this into proper context. The Indianapolis line isn't exactly a juggernaut out there, and they weren't really prepared for Bortles. Let's see how things progress for him as teams start to game plan specifically for him. I think over the long haul he should be fine, but there are going to be some ugly moments along the way. Allowing him time to develop has hurt absolutely nothing here.

You say they didn't game plan for Bortles to play right?  Well Bortles didn't get first team reps either and he looked fine.

moderators shouldn't dictate the conversation... they should moderate it.
Bortles has ability to run away from unblocked defenders. I would still start Henne until the line gels a llittle more.

Quote:This is funny stuff. Is his career ruined because he missed out on 2 1/2 games? Really?

Where in the post did it say "career ruined"?  Who is making up lies now?  You accuse posters of making things up all the time, but in turn you do the same thing.  Pretty classy FBT.  Pretty classy.
Nothing will ever convince me that it was the proper decision for Henne to start the season.

Period.

It has slowed down the chemistry of the offense by 2.5 games.  So it did damage that.  We are 2.5 games behind where we should be right now, and no I'm not talking about wins.  I am talking about chemistry of the team.  That changes with different players.  The line, the RBs, and the WRs all have to learn to play with Blake instead of Henne now.  That is what is damaged by him not starting when he should have started (game 1).

And we could have won the first game. I think that is the point of playing in the NFL, to win right?

FBT, what the Jags fed us isn't what we were delivered. Otherwise Blake wouldn't have come in after the half.

Zip zero... Stingy with Deniro.

Bingo. They were sending the heat because #1-our line is terrible and #2, they knew we were passing just about every down. Obviously once Hasselbeck came in we all knew it was over but Blake played well in his first ever real NFL game. I mean some people are forgetting that. This was his first real game ever. Preseason doesn't count.

Blake made free runners miss (Werner), kept plays alive and anticipated throws. Did he make bone head plays (INT to Toller), absolutely but like most of us have been saying since week 1: play him and let him learn from those mistakes. He won't make that play again. He's smart.

The people who have been agreeing with GB and DC about playing Henne are having a tough time admitting that they were wrong just like GB and DC are having a tough time admitting they were wrong for going with Henne.

1)  for Bortles   The light has always been shining, management just thought there was a third scoreboard.

2)  for Bradley   It was the phone ringing, not the light.

3)  for FBT         Laughing

and Bortles was ready to play at the Half......

The only reason gus put BB5 in this week is that the offense is so bad it forced his hand. If it was because BB5 was all the suddon ready this week he wouldve got the start. Some people hear everything a coach says and eat it up. I would think some of you never heard of coach speak. Gus road henne longer than he shouldve and wouldve done it longer but...

Simply how much did sitting 2 whole weeks help blake?
They had to play him because this team and franchise hasn't looked this pathetic EVER before.

We are at the lowest point in our history, and help (other than Bortles) is NOT on the way

Meh. Having a decent quarterback changes everything.

Not really, the injuries and position changes did far worse to that chemistry than the guy in the backfield. Look how many guys on the offense yesterday  weren't on the field the first two weeks, then look at how many weren't on the field yesterday that were in those games. It's been a big juggling act for 2 weeks and it'll continue that way while the roster churn continues.

The line is adjusting to them as well (the 2 new line starters and the new TE), but in the big picture the rest of the offense has been the same players playing with Chad as the starter.  Bortles and Henne have completely different playing styles.  This takes time to get used to, so yes it really did.
