Like a really bad stunt double?

I think you need to drink a bunch of liquor to understand this post.
HA !! Beat you to it !!

Can we stop talking about Henne now? Its over. Enjoy it!
I've probably come across wrong. He's a rookie, inevitably there will be times his mind is racing on the sideline after a bad play or consecutive poor drives. I'm just saying Henne is important to relax him a bit. No matter who it is a quiet word with a Veteran in your position is going to help. Surely.

Happens all the time in football over here (or soccer). Do Americans just let young sport stars get thrown to the wolves without any kind of method to calm the player down if he does something wrong?

Might have to come over and tell them there missing a pretty basic coaching method if that's the case.
I think I see where you're going with this. On sack plays put Henne in. And on touchdown plays put Bortles in.

Now you're making a little more sense. Thanks for clearing things up.

Almost yh, I'm just saying if Bortles is having a terrible game and getting constantly sacked and hit and really not going anywhere and we're getting dominated which I'm sure will happen at some point during this season put Chad in just to take him out the line of fire. If we don't, he could lose a lot of confidence very, very quickly.
Most sports stars on this side of the pond have kilt them a bar when they were only three, so they're not particularly afraid of wolves...

If that ever happens, it would be to avoid injury not to protect his psyche.  If he can't handle the pressure, he will never make it as in NFL QB to begin with.

I can give you a bottle of lucozade? I've stacked up on them considering I've decided to watch the Jets game and I'll get about 3 hours sleep (yay?) One of the horrible disadvantages of living here...
Quote:No, he's not a good QB and yes, Bortles is better than him and after watching the game on Sunday the rookie has to start for the rest of the season now. However, I think Henne will be used to take the heat off Blake. If he's getting constantly hit and pressurised Chad will be put in to take the heat off him for this season since, let's be honest here, he's got pretty used to it.

Also, Henne is still important to keep him calm, keep him focused etc and no doubt Bortles will learn off his less than successful experiences and how to cope when the crowd gets to you which will inevitably happen at some point

No matter what you think about him as a QB I believe he'll be partly responsible for BB's development.

No.

Why do we act like Bortles isn't a grown man that is* capable of facing any sort of adversity?

We made that same mistake with Gabbert and he took three years of our lives. If Bortles isn't capable of handling the heat he will be gone in the same timeframe.

Lets not worry ourselves with things men his age should be capable of dealing with.

Whatever you say, Chad.

In hindsight, it does come across like he's 18 or something but I'm just so anxious to see him develop into our future (hopefully elite) QB I don't even want to see him get hit. Think I'll just squint every time he goes down before making sure he hasn't broken both of his legs.

This is Blaine?

Oooooohhh.... I get it it now. That's sick. I doubt Bortles is into that kinda thing chad.

"Hey blake, you look a little tense. Want me to rub your shoulders?"
Henne is important still. In order for the clipboard not to get dirty, it needs to be held upright at all times.

I'm Ron Burgundy?

Joking aside, what you are describing isn't done in the NFL. In the NFL, the only reason a QB should be replaced is if they are so far ahead they sit him to avoid injury. Otherwise you have some serious problems. Typically coaches protect their young QB and build his confidence through play calling. But that's about it.
