Why are the Eagles even bothering to wear white at home, FBT??

It doesn't matter, right?

The Eagles otherwise always wear green at home.

Quote:The Eagles have worn white at home in their home opener in every hot weather game going back years.

That link provides a nice excuse for you for this year, but doesn't explain the past 10-20 years.

 Which one is it?

You can't understand what I wrote there?

The Eagles otherwise wear green/ black alts at home (final 7 home games) aside from the home opener which is almost always a hot weather game, so they usually wear white in that game.

I didn't realize that needed further explaining.

Actually they didn't in 2010 or 2011.

I know they did in 2012 and 2013.

There might be the occasional outlier when they didn't but you could go back and see that the Eagles regularly wear white at home in the home opener. As do most hot weather home teams.

So based on 2 years that you know, you made the assumption that they'd worn them in every hot weather game/home opener going back 10-20 years?
Do you switch to a white apron when it gets busy and the deep fryers start heating up?

Quote:Henne is a dink and dunker. When Henne gets a respectable YPA, it almost universally is the result of YAC.

Say what you want about Luck's low YPA, he attacks every part of the field. He just didn't have much weapons at times last season.

Henne has been a dink and dunker with resulting low YPA for years.
Wait, so there's more to it than YPA.  That goes against your Schtick.

Nope based on living here and noticing what they wore in their home openers on a regular basis. The instance 11th Dr brought up is an exception to the rule.

I remember going as far back as 1989 the Eagles regularly wore white at home in the opener. I was at that game.
I rarely agree with TMD but I know what wearing black on a hot september day feels like.

78 degrees is not hot

The overall argument in general.  Definately not a game changer but could offer a slight advantage.

Based on your frequent use of the expression, I am not sure you understand the racial overtones of "shuck and jive".

And the point is that A LOT of NFL teams utilize the advantage and wear white in their home openers.

Whether 78 degrees is actually hot or not really isn't even the point.

The point is that these home teams must believe they are getting some advantage out of this or else they'd simply wear their normal dark jerseys at home in the openers.
If we wear white, does the  10 point spread change?  If so, how much?

Agreed.

Nope.  I think the advantage is extremely small, but still exists.  If one impact player gets cramps from dehydration in the fourth quarter, that would be an impact.  Whether or not it happened because of darker uniforms obviously can't be said but the dark color does play a factor.
It's always sunny in Philadelphia.
Quote:In 7 games philly scored 24 or less points last year, so it's not like a bunch of teams haven't done it already.

Plus, there is an entire season of game tape on his offense. He no longer has the advantage of surprise.

Came here to say this

I don't think he gets that, 78 in Florida is not hot, that's a damn near perfect day.
