Quote:I believe Gus will put our defense in a position to stop them and they will. The eagle's receivers don't scare me and I think we can put enough pressure on Foles to force a couple turnovers.
On offense, I'm comfortable enough with our top 4 receivers that if Henne just manages the game and keeps his mistakes to a minimum, which he did in the preseason, we can win IMO
If the Jags cannot put up 30+ points they are almost certainly not winning this game.
Quote:I think the Eagles are somewhat overrated. We'll see soon enough. I think the Jags keep it closer than the oddsmakers think.
Ron Jaworski at ESPN has been really pumping up the Eagles. He even thinks Nick Foles is a better quarterback than Russell Wilson. He says it's not even close. I think Russell Wilson has a Super Bowl ring and Nick Foles hasn't won a playoff game yet, losing at home to a team that had never won a game on the road.

You coming to the game TMD? Philly should be pretty much in your backyard, right?
Henne can get 24 on the Eagles poor D, but I think the Eagles get to 35 or more with their college offense.
I think we're going to see our O line get punked a few times. Henne is going to get rattled early on and our offense will look really shaky at times. Hopefully the red zone demons have been exorcised, but something tells me they're not. At least not completely. I have a bad feeling about this game. Not so much about the Eagles, but the venue and the shakiness of our offense. Our D will save face. 27-13, Eagles.
Quote:So, you three think the Jaguars hold the Eagles to 24, 17, and 17 respectively??? .gif)
I don't know if you just fell off the turnip truck or what but the Eagles totaled 450 points LAST year, their first with Chip Kelly....its only likely to INcrease from that total from here.
If the Jags can hold the Eagles final score under 30, I'll be impressed.
In 7 games philly scored 24 or less points last year, so it's not like a bunch of teams haven't done it already.
Plus, there is an entire season of game tape on his offense. He no longer has the advantage of surprise.

Jaworski is (as Del Rio put it a decade ago) Mr Eagle. Just like Lou Holtz with Notre Dame, it's hard for them to stay neutral.
I wonder if BB was starting how much the posting on this subject would change. I think the game predictions would be much closer with fans projecting a higher point total for the offense. Sad to see such a talented player sitting on the bench behind Henne.
Still holding out illogical hope this is all smoke and mirrors and Bortles wins the race to maturity and is named the starter. Even if Henne plays well, he has proven it will only be a game or two before he reverts back to his old ways. So ready for the next chapter.
Quote:I really don't know what to make of this team yet. I don't think Vegas does either.
Exactly. It's going to take a game or two to figure that out. For now, the oddsmakers are going by 2013.

I expect us to win this game.
In fact, if you're a real fan, you should expect your team to win every game. No matter who the opponent is.

I don't think just because someone thinks the other team has a better shot at winning makes them any less of a fan.

So if you're a realistic fan who doesn't think your team isn't going 16-0, that makes you a lesser fan?

I think IronRank is much closer to the truth at 8.5.
They predict Jaguars 19 Eagles 27, but I don't think the Eagles score that much on this defense.

I feel that the Eagles are a lot like how the bengals were a few years ago, explosive offense but weak defense. If Blake Bortles was starting this game with a strong healthy Oline I think the Jaguars would easily win this game but he isnt so itll be close if not a loss on the road.

Jaworski to the Eagles is what Prisco is to the Jags in his "reporting". Was he talking for fantasy football? Because Nick Foles is not a better QB than Russell Wilson as an actual NFL signal caller. Kinda like how Tom Brady is a better actual NFL QB than he sometimes is for fantasy football.

Expecting to win and wanting to win are two very different things.
I "want" the Jags to win every single game. I do not "expect" them to win every game. If they went up against the Broncos on Sunday, you would expect them to win?
