Quote:I believe in Kelly's offense more than I believe in DeSean Jackson. Time will tell if I am underestimating the loss of Desean or not. They added Matthews, and Ertz will be used a lot more as well.
Plus, last year they had no Maclin.
Who are you rooting for?

I think the guy is obviously a Jags fan and is rooting for the Jags, with that said if he has Phly roots then he probably knows a lot about the team and follows the team subsequently. I live in Minneapolis and know a lot about the Vikings, more than what the average fan doe, there nothing wrong with that.

I'm rooting for the Jaguars.
SO, because I am rooting for the Jaguars I should then misrepresent/ diminish the strength of the opponent?? :ermm:
Is that how I'm supposed to be doing this?...

You just really sound excited about this Eagles team. I thought maybe you were a fan of them.

Quote:I think we know the answerIs there anything he's saying that would lead you to believe he's not rooting for the Jags? The guy is being realistic, the Eagles are loaded on offense, they have one of the best offensive minds in Chip Kelly and impressive group of offensive personnel, it would be stretch for even the most teal-seeing Jags fan to believe we'll be able to slow that unit down for 4 quarters. With that said, I expect this game to be a shootout, I don't see either of these defenses stopping each other, Chad Henne might be the Eagles best defender this week.

If anything instills fear into the heart of a defense, it's Riley Cooper.

Quote:Though I don't expect too many wins with Henne under center, I do expect our improved defense to keep the games a lot closer than they were the majority of last year.. and who knows, Henne just might surprise us and ... oh hell... who am I trying to kid... Never mind...What a way to start the season knowing you have no chance to win with the trash known as Henne as our quarterback. Hurry up and get this year over with.

I've always appreciated greatness. I've long touted the Patriots way of doing things/ Belichick as a HC.
This Eagles offense with Chip Kelly is uncommonly good. It started out impressive last year scoring 448 points for his first year and likely will improve as it goes on.
The big question for the Eagles will be if a defense can be successful in the NFL while utilizing an offense like that. Their offense often scores quickly so the defense will be forced to be on the field a lot. They gave up close to 380 points last year. I'm not sure a Chip Kelly defense will ever be able to be sub 300 points. Maybe it won't ever matter. Maybe it will always matter come playoff time with better teams/ weather factors. Time will tell.

That Broncos game also had the motivation of being the record underdog.

He's from the Philadelphia area. Is a die-hard fan of every Philadelphia sports team but is rooting for the Jaguars to beat the Eagles. Makes sense.

Oh ok. Well good luck to you guys. Just hope my Jaguars can keep it close.

Clever attempt
of sarcasm, there isn't anyone on the outside (neither Maclin or Cooper) that strikes fear into the heart of opposing defenses, the Jags concern is containing LeSean McCoy, that's hard to do as the Eagles run block extremely well. I also don't see the Jags getting consistent pressure on Nick Foles, if he has 3-5 seconds to scan the field it doesn't matter who's on the outside, they'll get open eventually. Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, and Jason Kelce are all elite offensive linemen; this is a bad matchup for a Jags defensive line that features only one edge player (Chris Clemons) that can beat an offensive lineman one on one consistently, there’s a reason their offense was so good last year, it’s because they have an offensive guru in Chip Kelly and really good offensive players. Does this sentiment make me less of a Jags fan?

I know. I mean, we might want to consider forfeiting.

Some of you just can't look at things objectively, it's ok to say the Jags defense might be a bit overmatched against a really good Eagles offense.

Yes, to be a real Jags fan, you must belittle and diminish the upcoming opponent every Sunday.
Any credit you may give the opponent will be looked at/ labeled as being a fan of the opponent.
