Quote:A few reasons I won't support Rick Scott

-signed a bill prohibiting the sale of smoking pipes, chillums or bongs (Big Government)

Drugs are still against the law in this state and paraphernalia are as well.

-signed a bill that allows schools to punish students for actions they do when they're not in school (Big Government)

I'm ok with this. Little Johnnie starts selling smack on the street I want him out of my kids' school.

-Rick Scott's finance chairman won potentially billions in Medicaid contracts in FL (Corruption can't be tolerated)

The new Medicaid plans are a huge improvement over the old system. We shouldn't use the best plans because they are conceived by people already working in the system? That's a talent drain we can't afford.

-Rick Scott had a sheriff arrested and charged with felony for protecting citizens’ 2nd Amendment Rights http://benswann.com/exclusive-fl-sheriff...nt-rights/

That Sheriff is clearly working the good ol boys network to let that clear criminal off the hook. The guy was carrying illegally and NOT pursuing charges is bad for all of us legal carriers. We have a law that works very well, if you don't follow it you should pay the price.

-Rick Scott's office bills taxpayers $25,000 for campaign consultant's work.

?

I'm going strictly third party on this one.

I'm a staunch opponent to the war on drugs, in local elections I'll put my support with people that look to end the pointless war on drug push here in Florida versus double down on it.

As for the schools, if your going to force me to fund public education I'd prefer to limit  the power of the government brainwashing institutions. I don't like setting a standard that makes the schools equal to the parents, the government brainwashing institutions are not the child's parent. The government brainwashing institutions are supposed to be funded for education not parent supplementation.

If there was NO other option and it was soley Charlie or Scott, I might hold my nose and vote Scott. But Adrian is a real viable option, he's for smaller government across the board and that's what I support.

Adrian

-School Choice Voucher proponent

-Legalizing Marijuana and ending the war on drugs push

-Financial Plan to end property taxes in the State of Florida.

-Strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and gun rights

-Repealing Common Core

-Reducing government entitlements

-Eliminating marriage license laws
Dems support medical marijuana. Skeletor Scott opposes. Dems win.

Scott gives illegals in state tuition college costs. Waits till just recently to replace Carrol, with, yep a Hispanic.

Yet last election was all for getting rid of illegals...oops...undocumented immigrants.

The guy lived in Florida for 7 years prior to last election and spends 72+ million dollars of his own money to win.

This guy is a snake. No point going into how many times he plead the 5th in the lawsuit against the medical company he ran.

Crist? Another snake.

So what choices are there? Nan Rich? No chance. Even with a name like Nan...c'mon.

So like I stated. The one who promotes legalization of weed... wins.
LOL at Christ. What is he this week, democrat or republican. That fool has no clue who he is and what he stands for. He is a puppet. I don't care who runs against him. The opponent is the better choice.

Do you realize how many old people live in this state who oppose legalizing pot? That single issue is limited to the 18 - 25 demographic and they don't vote in this election.

Polls show differently. By a fairly wide margin.

Sweet cause the Libertarian Candidate is for legalizing weed, so that means he will win right?

The numbers between medical use and unrestricted use are vast and wide. I'll also tell you that a significant number of physicians will not dispense it even if it's legal.

How is that different from people like the Koch brothers and the Walton family sinking millions into campaign of conservative candidates?

I can only speak from personal experience, but I have told every doctor that treats me about my cannabis use and why I use it, and their only concern was that I was inhaling carbons. When I told them I use vaporizers exclusively, I have received their endorsement 100% of the time. I am talking about internists, urologists, anesthesiologists, neurosurgeons, dentists, ophthalmologists and anyone I've encountered in rehabilitative medicine. Especially the latter, because they come into more contact with MS and spinal cord injury patients, who find a lot of benefits from cannabis.

I have made my case to clergy and senior citizens and received nothing but support. Remember that a 20 year old in 1970 is now 64. Demographics are changing, and with that so are attitudes.

This is Tennessee, which has some of the most Draconian marijuana laws in the country.

Here in Florida the support for medicinal use among the population is between 70 and 80 percent most of the time with outliers both ways. Recreational use falls to about 35% most of the time. Attitudes are changing, but that doesn't mean we'll see vending machines anytime soon.

Umm... No. This is between the Dems and GOP.

Libertarians can stand on the sidelines for a while.

Sadly it's a two party system here.

The Commie party supports weed too. So they should win too...right?

Is there even a communist candidate running for Florida Governor?

It does come down to 2 parties in Florida.  There isn't a viable option, and that's not going to change any time soon.

We have to pick between a guy who is nothing but a political opportunist and chameleon, and a guy who can't articulate anything that isn't on the script.

Based on those options alone, I'm going to look at results and make a decision as to which man will actually be an asset to this state.

Not that I know of. I said party. Parties don't run, the individual does. Don't go all sickle n hammer on me.

But FBT... You're absolutely right. Great choices huh? Want to get hit in the head with a bat or crowbar...hmmm, let me see. Neither?

Both have been governors, so they have baggage. But I I can't bring myself to trust either one.

Crist flip flop? Sure. Notice what Scott has done lately? Both remind me of a freshly caught bass just put into the bottom of the boat. The fish, however, smells better.
You only have two choices because you refuse to entertain another option. If ever there was a time to vote third party this governors race is it. But alas the Republicans will vote for Rick and the Democrats will vote for Charlie and both will whine how they didn't like either option.

A lot of people learned their lesson about voting for 3rd parties back in 2000 when Gore lost by a minute margin.

The problem is that as little as I or anyone else might want someone like Crist, the alternative is to possibly allow someone as sinister as Scott to be elected.

Before we can make progress we have to stop the bleeding, and the continued viability of the republican party is that bleeding. If the republican voters would just reject their platform and accept that they have to stop voting for the same thing just because it's what they want to be right, and accept what really is right then we could have third party viability.

Either that or you can start trying to affect election change to ranked choice (instant runoff) voting so that you don't have to feel like you're wasting a vote by going third party.

Change Gore for GHWB, Christ for Scott, and Republican for Democrat and you have the other party's opinion on the subject.
