Quote:Change Gore for GHWB, Christ for Scott, and Republican for Democrat and you have the other party's opinion on the subject.

Yes, I know, that's why I said it's going to take the realization that they have been wrong in their misguided beliefs all along.

I don't count on it happening, it's just going to have to happen through demographics changes, but either way the "I'M AN ISLAND, THE GOVERNMENT NEVER DID ANYTHING FOR ME, STOP TAKING MY MONEY!" crowd is on its way out.

Yes, someday you will realize that government is nothing more than a necessary evil and prone to tyranny, not the all benevolent father figure you seem to think it is.

Better the power be delegated to We The People than faceless international corporations.

I figure you'll probably die before you realize that, but that's okay, we don't need everyone to comprehend reality, just enough people to make the difference.

You must live under a rock, for the last decade government has become more and more unpopular across the board. people are starving for LESS government not More.

Is that what occupy Wallstreet was all about?

Occupy Wallstreet didn't even know what they where about.

-legalize pot

-end the federal reserve

-break up corporations

-same sex marriage

-wealth redistribution

all different reasons "occupy wallstreet" gave for protesting at one time or another.

The actual central point of occupy wallstreet was regulatory, ie, bigger government.

That's why it was occupy WALLSTREET.

I'm not surprised that you'd be unaware of the actual underpinnings of the movement, though, the right-wing (fox news, boehner in interviews, etc) scrambled to label the movement a lot of things in order to try to deflect the message from hitting home.

The official message was to "get money out of politics" that's a leap from "more regulation please"

Because you don't get money out of politics without the government actually making sure it's out.

The point was that the wallstreet people that caused the problems in the economy got off without repercussion, that was what occupy wallstreet wanted remedied.

Take money out of politics, break up too big to fail, send people to jail.

Government, Government, Government.

I understand your distrust for the government but how is you fully trust corporations to regulate themselves. It will not happen.
I am a liberal and did not vote because I knew I would vote for the Democrat no matter who the Republican's opponent is. But it was nice to know Rick Scott lost because Charlie Crist cannot be as bad if he wins it in November.

I used to vote for Republicans, but the last time I did, she spent her entire term criticizing the Democratic governor (who I voted for) and became the challenger's running mate.  That made me think it's important to vote along party lines.

Occupy was as big a sham as Crist's marriage.

But don't let that get in the way of the apologists.

Funny how those who call themselves "progressives" have actually taken our economy, education system, and social relationships and actually moved each backwards significantly... using class warfare and Cloward-Piven inspired strategies to tear down systems that actually work when not bastardized so by those who desire to replace them with systems that have already failed time and again throughout history.

They don't want to raise all ships as their opposition does, they want to create and be the ruling class.  Hungry only for power, not solutions... and some are falling for it hook, line, and sinker.

In other news, my corrupt politicians are better than your corrupt politicians. "Conservatives" are sooooo altruistic and looking out for the little guy.
This is why politics should have stayed banned. I hate you all now.

:thanks:  :pirate:

Occupy Wall Street was about vagrants not wanting to pay their bills, nothing more.

Quote:Occupy Wall Street was about vagrants not wanting to pay their bills, nothing more.

Most of it was for sure, but I know some of it was an attempt to protest the merger of Wall Street and Washington screwing everyone else, on that note I understand their frustration
Charlie Crist reminds me to at least some extent of the Florida version of Chris Christie.  That's anything but a complement.   You can't do much worse.

That should have been the focus. Unfortunately it wasn't

Like almost any grass roots movement, provocateurs and distractors are always sent in to create confusion and disorder. That's not by accident, it's happened on both sides, they did the same thing with the Tea Party.
You know they will do and say anything to get elected into office, but most at least try to hide it a little. Crist is just WAYYYY to blatant about doing whatever it takes to get back in office for my taste.
