"Whats your name boy?" It's toby masa

Quote:I hate when people say learned from the best to the RB position.

Quick, who suceeded Barry Sanders and Emmit Smith?

RB is about instincts.  I can tell you which kids in pop warner have the skills to be a future RB a the HS level and who doesn't just at that age.   It's about instincts, hitting the hole, and some natural born gifts that you can't teach.

Toby reminds me of heavier Craig James.  Let's face it, when you run a 4.53 there's only so much you can do.

Lol. You say 4.53 on a 230lbs man like its not impressive.

Quote:I don't think he would. We didn't spend a high draft pick or pay him a lot. low risk high reward type signing.

He is paid enough that 1000 yards is a pretty low expectation.

Jerome Bettis wasn't very fast either.
Quote:Hey Toby, I really hope so...

But I'd rather you just shut yer yap and let the play on the field do the talking. So tired of hearing players in all sports talk a good game and the results fail to live up to the talk. Big talk is just talk, unless....yer backing it up.
This is what he said:

Quote:"I had the skill set to be a starter from the onset, but I was playing behind one of the best in the game," Gerhart recently said of Adrian Peterson, per The Florida Times-Union. "I've gotten comfortable with the speed of the game, but don't have the wear and tear on my body of someone carrying it 250 times a year.

"I think I'm in a unique situation. Even though it's my fifth year in the league, I can come in and be a dominant guy. I'm ready for my shot now."

Either you can't read, or you think that's being too macho. Either way, the guy wasn't grandstanding.

Again, from the article:

Quote:Gerhart produced when given a chance in Minnesota, chalking up 4.7 yards per carry and running with power. He's also the same guy who blasted his way to 1,871 yards and 28 touchdowns for Stanford in 2009, barely losing the Heisman to Mark Ingram.

Can someone tell me what this says? Rolleyes
If Shoelace outshines him will it be a total eclipse of the Gerhart?

Kind of the response I expected. I'll just assume you can't read at this point.

If Poz injures him Gus will ask him 'Why do you have to be Gerhart breaker?'
lolz
Oh course he can. He's an outstanding runner. I'm expecting 1,200 actually, I think he'll break that.

Then he'd be an achy breaky Gerhart.

Give a snarky response, and get one. You fired the first salvo.

Gerhart using the term "dominate" is a bit much before he even plays one down as a starter. ....Or maybe thats just me,...right?

I think your reading to much into it. Nothing wrong with him having self confidence. Like I said earlier no one is gonna remember him sayibg that in September because its really not important.

He was dominant throughout his collegiate career, as well as more than respectable in the spot duty he was given in the NFL. The only snarky response was given by you, and you were called on it. If Gerhart were on a rival AFCS team, you would be crying and shouting from your soapbox over how the Jags are going to stop him. He was a Heisman runner up, and has close to a 5 YPC career in the NFL. Yes, he can be dominant. You criticizing him for feeling like he can be makes you the moron, not me for calling you out on it. .
The NFL is a passing league so I won't be expecting huge numbers. As long as he can be productive and protect the football it's a good signing.

Oh, goody, more name calling..... "moron"....yawn...

And deny it all you wish, you gave the first snarky response and you were called out on it.

Look, I don't need you to sell me on Gerhart....go back and look at the archives. I liked the addition.

I just don't need him "chirping" before he even takes a single carry. As said, I guess thats just me. I'd rather have him prove a little something for us before he uses terms like "dominate".

So, we're back to the "you can't read" thing.

It's all good...
