Nope, it was jamarcus russel

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......................what?
Russell had an arm but mentally he was pretty derp.

Manziel doesnt seem dumb, but some people think when teams kept him in the pocket, he struggled finding the open guy.
First of all, the 'it factor' very much exists. Basement-dwellers often don't recognize it as the disposition is too foreign to their anti-charisma. But it exists.

Johnny has 'it.' Confidence exudes from him; you can perceive it if not see it. Conversely, I don't think Teddy does. His Grammy had to convince not to quit football altogether. I'd question his drive and his love of football.

To stay on topic, no. I haven't been swayed. I already liked Manziel at 3. I'd take him there all day long.
I wouldnt say it swayed  my feelings, liked him mid first round before and still think he has great value there.

Quote: the way he came out and at least seemed like the nfl meant a lot to him, wearing the pads, the helmet. showed a desire to be the best and take things to a whole other level.
Laughing   You get all that out of a helmet and pads?

What do the camouflage pants tell you?

Everybody at their level has a great amount of Confidence.. You don't get to the top of your profession unless you have confidence and a little bit of an ego.

If you're really trying to push the him wanting to quit football agenda, then I highly doubt you have any clue why he wanted to quit football at a young age.

he could have taken the easy way out and just went out there in shorts and a t shirt like everyone else. the helmet and pads were a gamble, could of hindered his performance. but he went ahead and took the chance anyway.

I know why he wanted to quit football. It doesn't change the fact that he wanted to quit football. Anyways, having 'it' isn't just being confident. It's about, among other things, inspiring confidence in others.

So if you know why, then why are you trying to push that agenda? He was going to quit football, so he could get a job and help provide for his family at a young age. He had to mature and grow up very quickly. Are you really trying to knock him for that?

I might be changing my mind on Watkins or Clowney.....Manziel is climbing my board. If all three of these players are available at number three......right now, it's a toss-up for me....I'm beginning to think Manziel is the guy......I'm soooo freaking confused.....I'm glad I am not the GM. What a tough choice it will be.

Laughing   It takes a lot more than "it" to play in the NFL.  If you don't believe it, just give Tim Tebow a call.

That's a surprise.

He said what most of us have been saying:

Quote:Now, a workout in a t-shirt and shorts won't accurately depict a prospect's playing potential, but a dismal performance in a scripted session leads to red flags about a player's readiness at the next level.
Quote:Laughing It takes a lot more than "it" to play in the NFL. If you don't believe it, just give Tim Tebow a call.

Tebow had something but it wasn't it. Gabbert would be a good example of someone who has everything but 'it.' He was hollow. It's hard to explain. That's why it's called 'it.'

If Tebow could throw the ball like Johnny Manziel he would probably still be in the NFL, and more than likely starting for a team.

Tebow took Denver to the playoffs in spite of poor accuracy and a terrible throwing motion. "It" wasn't enough, but it still made a huge difference.

Manziel has the accuracy to go along with "it."

I'd take him at #3 over any other QB. I would prefer Clowney, but it's close.

My Concern from my observations is that their is a fine line between Confidence and Arrogance.

Johnny is very much BMOC and his past behavior has exhibited this as well as a individual that is maturing.

At least I do not have to make that decision.

Conversely, I don't think Teddy does. His Grammy had to convince not to quit football altogether. I'd question his drive and his love of football.

He wanted to leave football to help support his family if I recall correctly, now that is a selfless decision.

I appreciate your opinion, but we will have to agree to disagree about #3

You want to gamble the #3 overall on a guy who's primary attribute is something you can't even describe?  Laughing

It's easy to explain......fans and media who are infatuated with a player for reasons beyond his football abilities simply say he has "it".(but can't tell you what "it" is)

Tebow is a great example; hype way beyond his ability.

Gabbert is a terrible example; he's missing the most important skill a QB has......a football IQ.  He simply doesn't know what to do with the ball.  He'll leave a good pocket on one play, then stay while it's collapsing and get buried on the next.  He can't find a receiver with a GPS unit and he freezes like a deer in the headlights when he sees a rush coming.
