Most impressive move to date is getting a pick for gabbert I'm now convinced Caldwell can sell ice to Eskimos
Quote:So, in other words, your thread title is a bit sensationalist for "effect"?

Thats cool.

I can agree that Bradley being here certainly doesn't hurt in matters of personnel. He's just not "THE reason" ....and he's certainly not "Mariano Rivera"..... B)

You actually accused another poster of being "sensationalist?"

:whistling:
Quote:It isn't? Thats surprising, I was thinking it had to be close. Are you positive?

Look it up yourself.  It's obvious you've shot first and aimed later, per usual...

He could sell poop to a dung beetle

Either way, Beadles is making a lot of coin per the talent.....whether he's top 10 in pay or just outside of it.

Actually I labeled the thread title as "sensationalist".
Boy... The Eagles put together the "Dream Team" a couple of years ago didn't they? Signing Babin, Namdi, Vince Young, Ronnie Brown..... Oh yea. Dolphins the same when they signed Mike Wallace?

Big signings don't always equate to championships. You need players who fit your scheme and I think we've done that so far. Would it have been nice to have Byrd? Yea but not for that kind of money. Same with Everson Griffin.

they really don't.. just look at Washington over the years. That's not to say I wouldn't mind at least one big name.

Season Tix to TMD
A Henne jersey to Okie from Muskokee

This makes no sense. He's not making Top-10 Guard money, and he's arguably a Top-10 guard in the league. It was a good deal, and he's not overpaid.

Just because he's getting paid decent money, it doesn't mean it's a bad deal.

Exactly.  TMD thinks we can sign top 10 talent for the league minimum.  This contract was pretty much spot on for the caliber of player.

plus he may actually play at a higher level than he has in the past due to the scheme he is going to play in. It's like a puzzle coming together.

Beadles is NOT a top 10 Guard in this league, IMO. He had one very good outlier season. Actually, continuing that thought....Beadles to his position reminds me of another slacker player who's overpaid and still on this team...

Is it time to put the dog out of our misery yet?

lol, how do you figure he's a slacker? Manning called him one of the smartest OL he's ever worked with and people talk about how hard he's worked to be a great technician at the position.

He's had more than 1 good season...unless you're saying that year was the only good year of his, which is not true if so. Also, that year was when he didn't have Peyton Manning.

2012 was his pro bowl year.

According to PFF rankings he was just so-so last year, and was flat out hideous in 2011 (pre-Manning), after a so-so 2010.

Is that the fry cook ranking of NFL offensive guards you're using to make that determination?  I'm sure you watched every snap of every down he played.

He was on the all-rookie team his 2010 season, and was solid last year with like you just said a pro bowl year in 2012. 2011 was a rough year, solid years all around from the guy and going to an offensive that fits him better than what he was in...sounds good to me. 6M per for that? Slightly overpaid, but just slightly. He's shown he is one of the better guards in the league, if he isn't top 10 he is close. Going to ZBS where he fits in perfectly? Wouldn't surprise me in the least if he gets into that echelon.
The idea of 1 player putting a team "over the top" is mostly myth, unless you're talking about Deon Sanders or a Pro Bowl QB.
