Quote:The signees on the DL equal the talent level of a bunch of Jeremy Minceys.

So desperate for attention.
Quote:Ravens added Dominique Foxworth in 09 for 4 yes, 28 mil. Busted, but they did sign him and he was one of the top FA corners available.

So the fact that it "busted" is irrelevant as long as they go after names you recognize? Gotcha.
Quote:But the Revis deal is awful.....

Lots of people are praising what the Jags are doing and I like it so far. Will it turn out well? Who knows but I like it so far.

Eh its obvious the pats are shooting for the SB, knowing Brady prob only has a year or twovleft. I think it makes sense specifically for them cause they won't find another Brady for a while. I'm normally against shooting for a SB.

If only the quality of your posts could aspire to such heights.
Caldwell is doing a pretty good job with the defense.  No 'wow' signings, but we're making improvements.  The defense is being built more methodically, rather than haphazardly adding talent in an attempt to get better.  A defense is only as strong as it's weakest link.  No need to overpay Mario Williams to take the team 6-10.

Here's hoping we see the offense improve from last in the league.  Top 20 would be nice at this point.

What player outside of the Seattle guys can we point to we can say without other factor - that "Bradley" closed?

Toby likely chose us because of opportunity.

No.

Wow I realize now why I never post here. You guys can't follow arguments.

He said "the ravens did not (sign a high prifle FA)."

Ya they did, Foxworth.

I wouldnt have done it, but they did, I was just letting the guy know that.
Quote:Signing a player to a 1 year, $13 million deal is ridiculous, but that's all you've got since the only thing that matters to you in the FA acquisition process is a name you recognize.

He was making 16 MIL per in his last contract.

A 1 year "show me" deal is far from ridiculous. Its a smart move. Revis had other suitors and most likely teams willing to pay multi year & more guaranteed money. Belichick "closed" the deal.
Quote:Once the Jags are able to make a move like the Pats just made with Revis, then we can start to have legitimacy in labeling Bradley "The Closer".

Your post falls completely on it's face at this point.  The Revis deal is nothing special... too much for a broken player.  The only thing they got right was the length... a one year kick of the tires that carries it's share of risk, and nothing more.

You can call a turd a diamond, and it's still just a turd.  But then I didn't expect anything less from you.

Nice. Not the guy I would want to close but at least that lends some credence to the argument.

Still think its a reach to call him a closer, though. Not just yet.

Beadles said Wednesday he had interest from five teams with five essentially similar offers, but said, “I had heard great things about Coach Bradley, wanted to be a part of that.”

The pig Roast continues.

Looking over what other FA Guards got this FA period, and considering the talent level, I find it hard to believe the Jags offer wasn't the highest amongst Beadles' offers. 6.1 MIL per.

A similar talent player whose younger in Asomoah got 4.5 MIL per.

I have no doubt that Beadles was impressed by/ liked what he heard from Bradley, but the $$$ seemed to have been "the closer" there. He even tweeted as he was leaving Denver that it was a "business decision". That reads "most money".

So you are suggesting Beadles was lying? Interesting.

Agreed.  This Jaguars team is not at the point where they can make moves like this and expect some dramatic improvement in their situation.  Too many holes still left to fill.

Eh you got to go off the report though. You got to give Bradley some credit based on that.

Not a guy I would brag about closing, but he did according to the report.

I think Denver and New England realize this could be their last shot with their HoF QB's. It's basically desperation mode for them. If we were in a similar situation, I could see us making those moves too. But yeah, we're not.

"Broken?"

I don't know if I'd go quite that far.

Even last year, he played well, even if not quite up to his standards.

Now he is a year plus past his ACL injury.  He should be fine.

Gus Bradley is likely a contributing factor to free agents signing with the Jags.  While I don't think he's going to convince someone who would otherwise never come to the Jags, to do so.  I think he most certainly contributes to players deciding between Jacksonville and other locations.  If Jacksonville is on their radar - Bradley could very well be what makes them pick Jacksonville over somewhere else.
