Clowney will dissapoint in his rookie season.

If they were simple infractions, then sure, whatever. He's going 30 over on one and 40 over on the other. We've all done it, but do we do it enough to get pulled over twice in one month? I think it says a lot about his decision-making ability if he's driving around like this. You're naive if you think he isn't driving like this all the time.

 

I'd still draft him #1.

At the bottom of this espn article it says that 25+ is 6 points on your license and you only get 12 so it looks like he's probably going to lose his license so we won't have to worry about him driving himself anywhere if we draft him

If Clowney is there at our pick I bet Gus will lobby for him!

If Gus and Dave doesn't think that Bortles, Carr or Manziel can be a franchise QB for us......then we need to get Clowney if he is still there.

OR, think of what we could get in a trade down.

If he's at 2 or 3 where we pick, then a team who is in love with his physical prowess could offer us a pretty fantastic trade that would help ensure the future health of our franchise.

That option to me is the best because it gives Caldwell the most chances to draft impact players.

I agree. For the right deal, I'd pass on the guy and fill out the roster with more players. This draft is pretty good in a lot of areas. I would rather get a lot of good players than put all the eggs into one basket.

Molter...I'd be careful with that.

 

Teams need star caliber players to win.

 

Trading out of a spot where a star caliber player is available isn't necessarily a good thing.

Why? Clowney very well could disappoint in his rookie season, especially if the same level of effort continues. 

 

Not saying that would be a "definite" but its absolutely a reasonable possibility given his history. 

If the reports about his practice habits are true, that could b attributable to any number of factors.

 

It could be reflective of a mndset to protect himself from injury to protect his draft worth.

 

It may be reflective of immaturity.  He IS a young guy.

 

It may be a sign of a sense of entitlement.

 

Or it just may be a horrible work ethic.

 

I think in most cases, that is correctable.

 

If he gets with a team with some established and productive veterans around him, he could be straightened out.

 

Or if he gets with a coach he respects, etc., he could be salvaged.

 

I think Jacksonville certainly fits the second criteria.  Given that the team seems uniformly in support of Bradley, the first criteria may fit here, too.

Rare is the player who has elite measurables, put up huge stats in college, has a great work ethic, and is a saint off the field.  Like all the other players Clowney has his degree of risk/reward.

 

I dont know that I really like the idea of a player's coach.  However it seems like Bradley can get guys to want to play hard.  If Clowney just needs to mature a little and receives a little motivation, you could get an all pro type player.  Seems worth the risk if he is available.

The first two stipulations a prospect has no control over. The last two a prospect has absolute full control over.

I don't think we draft him. The main mantra in last year's draft was to go after guys "with juice" and who "Love football".

The alternate way of thinking is, if he's this good with a lack of effort and motivation, imagine how good he will be if we can motivate him.


This is the guy who in 10 years time teams will be looking back and realise just how trivial these 'red flags' was.

Well I honestly think Fisher is salivating at the idea of getting Clowney for the Rams so I'm not really sure we'll be in line to get him.  That said, his motivational problems..regardless of where they stem from..is a concern.  I wouldn't take the risk on him, that's for sure.

I don't see in any world the rams taking clowney..any world
