Quote:1. When did it start for you? Was it at 0-1, 0-2, 0-3, etc? Just curious.
2. Will it be and has it always been this way for you all along?
3. If we get Bridgewater and we go 0-2 or up to 0-6 next year are any wins after "meaningless"?
4. How many wins do we have to have out of the first six games to make any after worthwhile and not tank again?
Edit to clearly define seperate questions.
1. 0-4, the season was over.
2. First time tanker here
3. Depends on how Bridgewater (or QB they draft) is playing.
4. Depends on how the team is playing, if there just getting blown out every game...

Please explain! Need a good laugh!
I don't want the Jags to tank. Effort is not the issue; they can win even when they try hard.

There are so many more questions to ask though:
5. When the Jags have a huge play during the game, are you upset, or are you torn that you're happy about the big play?
6. Have you determined when you will be a fan of the Jags actually winning again?
7. If the Jags don't draft "your guy" will you continue to wish for them to lose, and if so, for how long?
8. If the Jags won out this season, ending at 9-7 and earned a wildcard berth, would you boycott the playoffs because the team didn't do what you wanted them to?
I feel like a forensic psychologist, diving deep into the mind of the unclean. I want to know what it is like to think bad is good, and good is bad. I also want to know how to explain to others how bad is good and good is bad. It must be a gift.
Is it like an abusive spouse who abuses that person because they "love them so much?"

Hahaha you sound like a big baby. The Jags will not go 9-7...
We all want the jags to win the Super Bowl. I also want to marry Sofia Vergara, go back in a time machine and invent google and become a world famous actor but that is not happening.

I would ask you some football related question, but it's obvious you aren't interested in actually discussing football in a substantive manner.
You certainly never answered any of the questions I've posed to you in this thread.
Jags winning out and going 9-7?
I want some of what you're smoking..
This team is pitiful, pathetic, absolutely lacking in talent and effort. The best thing for the long haul is to get the 1st pick in the draft. When you get rid of Gabbert and Henne, then the team will have some semblance of "hope".

Careful there, navy.
You'll find yourself among us "loosers," "bibbers," "self soilers," and baggers.
Wouldn't want that now, would you?
I've become numb to the losing. Used to the mediocrity.
Is it so much to want success for the team?
Look at the Colts with Andrew Luck - what did those meaningless wins mean for the Jags two years ago? Now the Colts will be set at the QB position for the next decade.
All "WE" really have left is hope for the offseason. Getting a franchise QB, maybe some nice pickups in free agency.
Is it that much to ask? Really, what good would it to do win 3-4 games and draft around 5-7? Miss out on the top tier players in the draft? Or give up a bunch of picks to get the first pick??
I don't get how these people don't see it!?
Suck for a short period of time, improve overall quality of roster.
Stay mediocre for a long period of time, continue to stay mediocre for an even longer period of time

Apparently it is too much to ask.

#5. Love when the Jaguars make a big play. Unfortunately that's not often right now.
#6. When they are capable of winning.
#7. I don't have a guy. Slavery was outlawed before I was born.
#8. If the Jags get the #1 pick will you stop being a fan of them?
Tankers don't want the Jags to lose. They want them to get the first pick if they lose. They want something to come from their suffering, rather than nothing.

Someone else gets it.
Of course, to some, you would be a "looser, " etc.

I don't get it, either.

Looser *chuckle*
It's refreshing to see kindred spirits around here

5.) I know that we will end up losing the game, so yes I do cheer for the few good plays we have.
6.) When Dave drafts his QB
7.) Ill back whoever Dave chooses.
8.) Who cares about unrealistic hypotheticals? Im rooting for us to lose because I know the best possible outcome to this season is 4-12. As a fan, I would rather see the team get the first pick than go 4-12. I dont see why anyone would think otherwise.
Its really not that hard of a concept to understand. This year is a lost cause, who cares about an extra 2 meaningless wins when the alternative could get you set at quarterback for the next decade and a half.
Carry the thought a little further... Do you root for our immediate competition for a playoff spot each year, our division rivals, to win their games so that they have a worse draft position come draft time?
If any of you answer yes to this question, I think you've seriously lost sight of what being a fan means.
There is a distinction between rooting for a loss and not being upset at a loss, however. I don't get upset over any loss that doesn't result in our season being over and I'll no doubt take a higher draft position over a lower one, but I won't worry about the draft or where we're drafting until the season is actually over. The crapshoot component of the draft is too big of a factor to root for a loss. It's more about just being consistently better at evaluating talent than the other 31 teams than it is about where we're drafting. If we can quit missing on high picks and quit trading up for busts we'll be a perennial playoff contender. It's going to take a couple of years of not doing that.
Watching Luck play tonight has me mad as hell.. We should have never won that last game in 2011..
Quote:Watching Luck play tonight has me mad as hell.. We should have never won that last game in 2011..
Exactly!!!
That meaningless win will haunt us for the next decade. We've got just the bad luck to end up winning 2 games and drafting 3rd or something, end up giving up picks to move into the first spot.
I don't see why people don't understand this????
Quote:It's fun to watch this play out every year. The same song and dance by the same cast of characters.
I read these threads and remember many of these same knuckleheads saying the same thing about Jevan Snead a few years ago.
They wanted the Jags to use their FIRST ROUND PICK on the guy and gushed like groupies all season long for the guy.
Imagine that. The year and the name of the QB changes, but the song and dance always remains the same.
Funny how you used the worst possible QB as an example...what about when the knuckleheads wanted Stafford, Bradford, Newton, RG3, Luck?
