Watching Luck play tonight has me mad as hell.. We should have never won that last game in 2011..

Yeah if there was ever a game to tank... Now Indy seems to be headed for 10+ more years of great QB play and there is not an elite QB in this draft when the Jags pick that high...

Indy of all places, runs a pretty lame operation in a lame town and most of the players they draft are garbage or average at best bah FOR SHAME. FOR SHAME.
This is not hard to understand, it really is not. Lose every game, get franchise QB, win 3 to 4 meaningless games, continue to be bad. Its simple, look what the colts did. Now they have luck. Call me a tanker all you want, but i want Bridgewater or whoever the top QB prospect is. Sorry, i dont wanna win 3 games this year. Ill take being competitive the next decade over watching Henne lead us to some miracle victory which takes us out of the Bridewater sweepstakes.

Jags have sucked for a very long time, remember 2007? Yea, its been a while since we have had a actual talented team out there. I miss the playoffs, i miss talking about the jags and actually feeling confident about them. Being able to brag to my buddies or people. I wanna win. Ill lose this season.

Start drinking, it will help with these horrible losses. On the bright side, our WR corp is sweet, along with our safeties. And you Lewis haters need to pipe down, hes a good player. We could use a pass catching TE though.

Quote:1. When did it start for you? Was it at 0-1, 0-2, 0-3, etc? Just curious.

As soon as Caldwell became GM and started gutting the roster. As soon as he let guys like Greg Jones, Daryl Smith, Terrance Knighton and Derek Cox go, I knew the direction he was going, especially since he didn't spend in free agency.

2. Will it be and has it always been this way for you all along?

3. If we get Bridgewater and we go 0-2 or up to 0-6 next year are any wins after "meaningless"?

No. With Bridgewater is the QB of the future, you let the year play out, as you don't want the team to develop a losing culture. Think of the 2003 Jags when Leftwich arrived.

4. How many wins do we have to have out of the first six games to make any after worthwhile and not tank again?

It doesn't matter. We shouldn't tank again if our QB is in place.

Edit to clearly define seperate questions.
I have yet to hear a legitimate argument for a fan wanting their team to lose.

First and foremost, the team doesn't give a flying crap about you wanting them to lose. They want to be the best at what they do and want to win every time they step foot on the field.

Should they lose out, then they may or may not have the coveted first overall pick. Other teams are also losing too, so they still may not.

But the bottom line remains unchanged. You can't call yourself a fan of a team that you want to lose. You may think you are, and you may try to spin it a million different ways and talk about big pictures and all that jive talk, but when it's cut and dried, you turned your back on your team. That may be fine with some of you. It would never be fine with me.

I stand behind my team ALWAYS. I don't pick and choose my moments. Maybe I'm a dying breed, but I see good as good, and I see bad as bad. I don't try to mix the two and try to rationalize it to myself to make myself feel better about being a fraudulent fan.

Wake up brother. If we win out and make the playoffs and then win the Super Bowl, everyone will be excited.

The fact remains that we will continue to lose and having the 1st overall pick this year is better than having the 5th or 6th.

Calm down.

Excuse you!  How exactly do you stand behind your team always?  I bet you in every single measurable way, I do just as much as you.  I go to the games, I buy the merchandise, and I cheer loud and proud for my Jags.  So don't go around calling anyone a fradulent fan.  Keep your judgment to yourself.  I could call you an idiot for wanting this team to squeeze out a few meaningless wins, but I haven't (until now.)

Do I want them to lose?  If you asked me in pre-season, I would say hell no!  I thought Gabbert could have a chance to prove he's our guy.  He has proven he is not our guy, and that WE DON'T HAVE A GUY.  So now, sitting at 0-7, do I want them to win?  If we just flat-out whoop someone, then awesome!  But if we get a team who's had bad injury luck, playing a 3rd string QB, etc etc, and we "squeeze out" a win which in turn gets us the 3rd pick... yeah, I'd be pissed.  Sue me.

Calm down.
After watching the Colts go from perennial playoff team, taking one year off, getting Luck, and going right back to what looks like a perennial playoff team, I've been converted. I fully believe in losing.  It's what the league has created, they've made the QB position so crucial, that fans of teams without legitimate QB's should want to lose.

Yep. All true.

Sad  - but true.
Quote:#5. Love when the Jaguars make a big play.  Unfortunately that's not often right now.

#6. When they are capable of winning.

#7. I don't have a guy.  Slavery was outlawed before I was born.

#8. If the Jags get the #1 pick will you stop being a fan of them?

Tankers don't want the Jags to lose.  They want them to get the first pick if they lose.  They want something to come from their suffering, rather than nothing.
#8 - Nope. I will never stop being a fan. I will be every bit as extatic as everyone else. You see, the difference between me and people with the loser mind of thinking is that I want the Jags to win EVERY TIME. Gameday, draft day, and throughout free agency. Just because things are a little tough sometimes, I don't turn on my team and wish failure upon them.

That's the difference between me and those with the losing mentality. Losing is for losers, period.

Yeah, you're such a winner!  If we only had more positive, REAL fans like you!

/sarcasm off

If me having the intestinal fortitude to stand behind my team unconditionally makes me a big baby, the Jags need a lot more big babies these days.

They lack true fans, and have too many bandwagon sellouts who only support them when things are good.

Hahaha laughable. Everyone on here cares about the team. You seem to think you're the only one who cares. Been a fan since day 1 and most of us realize that to really win in this league you need a franchise QB. The best way to do that is to get the best one available next year.

Now if we were 3-4 or 4-3... people would have a different tune. But we are 0-7 with no end in sight.

Stop calling people out for not being true fans. Not once have I ever heard of someone being a "bandwagon" jags fan. Thats like an oxy moron.

Get a grip.

You really are clueless. Not only clueless, but seemingly angry. Does being a loser with a losing mentality really bother you that much? Maybe you should bandwagon a winning team or something. Problem solved.

Last I checked the two teams that have won the most championships over the past 15 years have done so without a fist overall pick.

Brady, Rothlisberger, Brees. Sixth round pick, Seventh pick of the first round, and a second round pick.

You can keep your losing mentality. Just don't think everyone is going to think you're anything but a second rate fan for doing so. That's your problem, not mine.

Alright question for you:

Come week 17 the Jags are 1-14.  The Buccaneers and Giants are at 2-13.   But they hold tiebreaker over the Jaguars. A Free agent QB comes available that would make beating the Colts very likely.  Not signing that QB makes it unlikely we beat the Colts and go on and have the 1st pick with a 1-15 record.  That QB is getting older, and has maybe 2 years left to play before retiring.

Do you want the Jags to sign that QB?

Dakota, why does anybody EVER trade up in a draft?  Please answer.

Players can be found anywhere in the draft, so why the hell do GMs trade up?

-ScrewDrvr-

TRUE fans will understand and take their beating for the greater good. Sorry Dakota, its time for you to go root for another team, we dont need downers like you who want the team to lose year after year. Some people here would like the Jaguars to have the chance at the pick of the litter for a franchise QB. I know the team potentially getting better upsets you though.....
I just don't see how wanting them to get the number one pick means your turning your back on the team. Those of us that look forward to it only want it for the future success of the franchise. By Dakotas way of thinking, I guess that made me a colts fan when they were tanking just because I wanted them to win so they wouldn't get the first pick.

You're being very dishonest here.  Although what you said is true, why did you stop at 15 years?  Don't want to include guys like Aikman, Bradshaw, Elway, Manning....
