Justin is the more talented of the two. The main reason Cecil had such a big year last year was because of the other teams targeting mostly Blackmon. However, I still think Both are really good WRs, Blackmon just has an edge in terms of natural talent and physicality.

What I don't get is why everyone is sold on Bridgewater more than a more polished pro-ready QB.
I like Murray, McCarron and Boyd all better than Manziel or Bridgewater. Based on what I think they will be in the NFL, not what they are doing now
Quote:Cecil and Blackmon will be the best WR duo in the league with a good QB, PS 1 100 yard game doesn't make him better than Cecil who has about 7.
How many near-300 yard games does Shorts have?
You don't have the kind of game Blackmon has vs Houston unless you are one of the most talented in the game. He almost single-handedly won that game.
Blackmon's hands are much more reliable than Shorts' and he's already making things look "easy" at this level which is amazing.
Quote:Austin Seferian-Jenkins played football and basketball his true freshman year at UW.
Would love to draft him, top tight end this year.
Quote:Blackmon took a lil to get goin as a rook. But by all accounts, he does look legit. Hope he keeps his nose clean, so to speak.
Shorts and Blackmon likely benefit from each other being on the field. Without Shorts, Blackmon is surely doubled and maybe even tripled. Without Blackmon Shorts wouldn't get open at all most of the time.
Blackmon, Shorts, Sanders.... not a bad trio for a QB to get.

Go do your homework man.

That argument doesn't work unless Blackmon had a lot of 200 yard games, he had
one. Is Chad Henne the answer at QB I mean he had 4 td 0 int and 400 yards in that game? One good game means he's the best right? I'll take Shorts 7+ 100 yard games, 10+ 70+ yard games and 9 TD over a guy who is getting on average 40-50 yards a game with the occasional big game against a bad defense and 6 TDs.
Both are good, but right now Cecil is better. If Blackmon comes out the next couple of weeks with the same sort of stat line he had yesterday then I'll agree with you. Either way it's a great WR core and you seem to have had a problem with Shorts for years now.
Quote:Oh yeah... I forgot you're the best NFL GM around.... we'll see next season who is performing better. Not saying Bridgewater will suck... but he's a 3rd year starter who plays a schedule of nobody. McCarron, Murray, Boyd... battle tested QBs all playing in their 4th or better seasons, iirc.
Man.. That Roethlisberger, Rivers,Romo, Flacco, Tannehill, Brees, Kaep, Vick, Rodgers, Dalton... They all must suck since they didn't play in the SEC!
SEC QB or bust!

Blackmon will routinely have 100 yard games; probably more than a few 200 yard games in his career, barring he stays healthy/ out of trouble.
If you can't see that Blackmon is simply on another level from Shorts, then I really can't help you. Your eye test is failing you.
Shorts may be a good WR2, but Blackmon is a special talent as a WR1 in this league. They don't grow on trees.

Blackmon WILL, Shorts already IS.
Be quiet, you don't know what you're talking about.
Agreed.. Blackmon is definitely a guy that can go to multiple pro-bowls, even with a mediocre QB.
It was actually nice to see Blackmon kind of say "what was that?" after a few throws by Gabbert. He had over 130 yards yesterday - and could have approached 200 if Henne played all game long.
For people not on the Teddy Bandwagon, I really don't know what you are watching/thinking. We have a few really nice pieces. With a halfway competent QB, we will actually be in games for a change. We will move the ball, we will score points...

Oh, yes....yes I do....
I actually paid attention to Shorts' play/ production while he didn't have Blackmon's presence on the field to take focus away...
Blackmon = STUD WR1, Shorts = nice WR2

I agree with what you are saying, but Cutler did play in the SEC.

Had his best statistical game a couple weeks ago against Richard Sherman and no Blackmon try again, and don't say anything about garbage time the catch that put him over 100 was on Sherman.

JB- 17 games played 69 catches 1,001 yds 5tds... AVG 4 catches 58yds and .3 td's per game
In games 9-16 last year JB had 41 640 and 4tds
CS- 29 games played 88 catches 1420 yds 9TDs... AVG 3 catches 48 yds and .3 td's per game.
In games 9-16 last year 32 523 and 4td's

Get a grip man... How many yards did Shorts have at halftime of that game?

I noticed that too, was wondering if he was blatantly annoyed with Gabbert or it was something else like looking for a flag. I'm thinking it was the former.

Don't say nothing about garbage time? It was in garbage time.

It was all garbage time when the deficit reached over 30.
AT that point all they do is take away the deep stuff and be more than happy to give Shorts the short/ int stuff. .
If that game against Seattle impressed you, then you have no clue.
As a Jaguars fan, you have to remember that it is far more important to be able to say 'I told you so' than to just simply enjoy watching them both play.
For that reason, I am team Jacob......err...Justin. Team Justin. Because the OP is smurt, and he told me so.
I'll admit I was wrong on him coming out of college. I didn't think he had the size/speed to warrant a top 10 pick.
We got some good weapons for the future, that's the one brightspot of this team.
