Erm, if anyone watched the game today (you guys obviously didn't) NO ONE on the Colts played well today. No one. I think the first run by Richardson pretty much set the pace for the game. As soon as the ball left Andrew's hands he was tackled in the backfield for a loss of about 3. Not much you can do. Donald couldn't do anything either.

Donald had 2 carries and certainly made an impact with his TD. Every time the Colts call Richardson's number it is a waste of a play in order to try and justify the trade.

Also what's happened to Vontae Davis, he's getting toasted by everyone the last few games

Donald's touchdown was a pass and to say it made an impact is laughable. We were down by 35 at the time.

And not sure about Vontae, last 2 games he reverted back to "old" Vontae from the beginning of 2012. Hopefully he's just on a bad stretch and gets back to playing the kind of football he was playing the first 7 games this year and at the end of last year.

As I said earlier, the offensive line is terrible. This was on full display today. Constanzo was the LT who was beaten by Quinn that led to the first sack/fumble/TD.  This must be addressed in the offseason.

Secondly, Trent Richardson did not look good today. Granted,  Hall of Famer Jim Brown would have struggled behind this O-line, but at this point it is clear that Brown is more effective than Richardson. I was hoping for a big day from T-Rich today. Maybe he will come through on Thursday. We can only hope.

How did Gosder Cherilus play in this game?

Nobody on the O-line played well today. And a part of me is bothered that he wears the number Tarik Glenn wore when he was a LT here during our heyday.

He's been our best lineman this year and it's not even close. He's been pretty solid IMO.

Castonzo is good too (although t-rex disagrees), he got beat early in the game today. He can be in inconsistent at times, I'll give t-rex that.

Our interior oline is just dreadful. Satele whiffed on many blocks today, which is normal.

What disturbs me as a huge Dwight Freeney fan is the Colts gave Freeney's number to OLB Erik Walden the first season Freeney was gone.   Freeney is the best Defensive player in the 30 season history of the Indianapolis Colts.   At least in the case of Tarik Glenn,  he's been retired for a while.

Thanks to both of you for your input.

' Big Gos'  matured greatly in the latter part of his time with the Lions.   Because of the numerous mental/ concentration mistakes Gosder Cherilus made earlier in his career,   he didn't get enough credit for becoming a good all around RT.   People have long memories.

The salary cap made it virtually impossible for the Lions to give Cherilus the type of contract the Colts thought he warranted.    This is one of those situations that both teams benefited from a Free Agent move.    The Colts received a winning caliber RT,   who seems to be developing into a leader with them based on what one of the prime time announcing crews mentioned in a recent game.

Because the Lions couldn't keep Cherilus and didn't draft any Offensive Tackles,   Texas Tech UDRFA LaAdrian Waddle decided to sign with the Lions after the draft.    By the end of the pre-season,   I was confident that Waddle is the best Lions UDRFA prospect in at least the last 30 seasons.    Waddle's play in the last 2 games at RT,  his first 2 starts,   has reinforced my opinion.

As long as Cherilus'  knee holds up,   he should be an asset for the Colts for a number of seasons.
Colt fans defending T-Rich are only doing so out of desperation and hope that they didn't just give away their first round pick for a guy who is averaging 3.4 yards for his career (and that number is getting worse this year at 3.0 yards per carry).  Donald Brown has out shined him this year.  That trade may haunt the colts.

This trade looks worse every week that passes.

What I don't understand is why did they get T-Rich if he wasn't going to be their work horse back.  His best asset is wearing down a defense even though his YPC are very low.  He needs to get the ball 20+ times per game and they aren't using him in the passing game either.  You get a power back and then hand him the ball an average of 13 times per game?
I still can't believe Grigson was awarded executive of the year.

As if there is something difficult or noteworthy about drafting Andrew Luck when your team has the #1 pick.

Lol.

1. Andrew Luck - Amazing pick

2. Coby Fleener - good pick

3. Dwayne Allen - Amazing pick (on IR this season)

4. TY Hilton - Amazing pick

5. Vick Ballard - Amazing pick (on IR this season)

That was the first 5 rounds of 2012 draft. You're delirious if you think it was only Andrew Luck.

Put Gabbert in place of luck on that list and everyone would think the other 4 picks are terrible.

Can you do math in Jax?

Oh... BTW... 37-3
So where's this yokel?

Quote:Lol.

1. Andrew Luck - No opinion. Anyone off the street would have taken him

2. Coby Fleener - Average Pick

3. Dwayne Allen - Good pick if he stays healthy

4. TY Hilton - Amazing pick

5. Vick Ballard - Decent Pick

Adjusted for you. Ps we used to think similarly about the 2009 draft which now looks pretty terrible

Earlier you were saying that the Trent pick might not be so bad because the Colts might otherwise made a bad selection with that first rounder. What you're saying here would seem to refute that assumption entirely.

What I need to know is if there's still any hope for Trent. I have him on my FF roster after trading Ellington for him weeks ago, and only have one good RB on my roster to speak of. The hope was that Trent would be a quality starter, but clearly that hasn't been anywhere near the case. Should I hang on a little longer in case things change for him as the weather gets colder, or is he simply a lost cause that I need drop now? I'm basically asking if Colts fans see anything in Trent to think that things might turn around for him.
