How do we know that Brandon Allen isn't the next Dak?
Blake showed me last year that when he's on his game, he has excellent pocket presence with the ability to see well downfield along with the arm to get it out there, but right now he's not on his game. I truly believe they need to sit him a couple weeks to rest his arm and get his head straight.

If they're going to sit him, they should shut him down completely for the remainder of the year. What purpose would a couple of weeks serve? At this point, it really doesn't matter...there is no season to save realistically speaking.
Its too late to sit him now... They should have did that like 4 weeks ago... Noe its time to let him play it out to determine if he really is the jaguars franchise qb..

There is no gurantee, but going out and making qb our number 1 priority now as opposed to 2-6 years from now is better than sitting around waiting for Blake's mechanics to go from miserable to good. Time to draft another guy and hope for a Wentz 2.0 situation in Jax.

You guys have to remember this man was hitting the deep ball in stride last year. He was fairly accurate and smart. I was on the "Bortles sucks" train myself because it's so easy to jump on because he is the QB and has been under performing. Literally watch any other team and there is a gameplan. There is no confidence in this coaching. This year it's like they are just telling him don't mess up instead of go win. Why? Because winning literally is on his shoulders. No running game, no consistent line, a defense who can't cause turnovers, etc. If you are building a house of cards and someone is standing over your shoulder yelling at you not to mess up you probably will. Not to mention, his arm is probably shot to hell at this point from having to throw so much.

He's led the league in both sacks and turnovers since he started. There's no fixing Bortles, he's already been fully broken.
Bortles is done? He set franchise records last year, and at his current pace, he'll actually continue to exceed the best seasons for TDs for Brunell and Garrard. He's not done. At least I hope not. I don't think it will take half a decade to determine where he fits, but as someone has already said in this thread, you don't need him to be an elite QB for the team to win. You just need him to be better than average, which he's more than capable of.
Last year he had no reigns. throw it anywhere if it is intercepted we dont care. This year he was given a mandate to cut out the interceptions and reign in the gunslinger. As a result he has suffered not only in accuracy but in decision making. More then once this year he has had a player open and pulled the ball down cause he was thinking this could get intercepted.This is what is wrong with him they have put the no more forced balls no more INT if its not there move to next target and that has affected him holding the ball more and then trying to hurry to throw to a 2nd and 3rd rear which causes the inaccuaracy. simple fix tell him Let it Go, Let it Go, Dont hold back any more!

Please. They don't have the magic bullet in Brandon Allen, especially not this year, and there's plenty of time to evaluate him during the off season. Sitting Bortles for any period is the equivalent to saying he's done here, and I don't think the team is at that point.
Allen was like half the player Dak was in the SEC. Not even close. Plus Dak has elite pass pro and running game to support him.

I'm not in position at this time to answer the above question but here's an opinion question that comes to mind that's related. If Brandon Allen was with Dallas and started all 9 Cowboys regular season games that they already played, what do you ( and anyone else ) believe their record would be?

Why are you convinced Blake Bortles needs to rest his arm when it is perfectly healthy? He never showed up on the injury report.
