He's OK.

FWIW most of us thought the Cyprien signing was pretty [BLEEP] from day 1. No one was really counting on him to actually improve our secondary. Stopping the run was not our problem on defense last year. It was getting torched through the air. So adding Cyprien was a bit of a head scratcher.

DaNorris Searcy.  He sucks too lol.  But still, tough to be any worse than Cyprien was last week so no big deal.  Cyp was out of position a lot and for a supposed "run stop specialist" he sure seems to have a tendency to whiff.
Yeah, tell us about it. Wallbash That's why it is such a shame.

Especially when the draft had Malik Hooker in it.

Could have drafted him.

Addition by subtraction.   I'm glad he got hurt.

Why? If Mularkey is smart he will not get his job back.

Malik Hooker was gone already, so planning on drafting him would have been stupid too.

on YOUR defense? like all the sudden your good after stopping the mighty houston O?
mariota will but up 31 with ease

Is that what uncle daddy calls it?

The impressive part of the tinhorn game wasn't necessarily how our defense handled their offense.  Houston has one of the better defenses in the league, and they barely put up a front against the Jags.  Look at the stat line for their front line guys.  It wasn't pretty.

Your high draft pick QB can barely complete pass ... hey, maybe Bortles will be bad enough you can waste another top 5 pick on a qb

Yeah, you missed the playoffs by a foot.  You're welcome.

(09-13-2017, 12:59 PM)JaguarsWoman Wrote: [ -> ]Bad news: Not only did Jalen Ramsey miss practice, but Blake Bortles has a right wrist injury. Look for more running plays this weekend.

Bortles wrist injury is a complete non-factor.  Ramsey missing practice is fine.  He sprained his ankle in Houston.  They're going to avoid putting too much strain on it in practices so that he's as fresh as possible on Sunday.

Not to worry.  The marketing wizards in tacky valley have a plan to boost attendance.  They've got a few special events planned for this season.

  1. Match.com night - The Titans are inviting folks to bring their family reunions to the stadium for a home game and potential love connection.
  2. Oral Hygiene Day: The theme for the day is "brush your tooth!"
  3. Family Tree Day: The tacks will be giving out free 2x4s to the first 3000 fans to enter the stadium.

Cut them some slack.  The guy on the left found out that his sister was cheating on him with the guy on the right.  Cousin/brothers are gonna fight occasionally.

Always with the same old tired incest and gay jokes.  Funny thing is Jax is really more south Georgia than north Florida.

Hooker was the guy I wanted. But 5th overall obviously was a bit too early for him and he was gone by our next pick. I was hoping we'd package that #18 pick in a trade for Cooks and then get secondary at #5, or with a slight trade-back. I'm fine with what we ended up doing though. Davis and Jackson both looked solid last week. Albeit Jackson definitely looked like a rookie at times. He was having to cover Amari Cooper in his first ever NFL game though so no easy task.

Right, I never thought Malik Hooker was a top five guy and I am a huge Buckeyes fan. You needed a WR at that pick anyway. I wasn't sure if Corey Davis is that good or not though.

I'm not either but he looked pretty solid last week for a rookie who missed the entire preseason playing in his first ever game. That's why I wanted Cooks. I figured if we could get a proven young stud in exchange for #18 that'd be better than using #5 overall on an unproven rookie who may very well bust. Who knows though. Maybe Davis at 5 ends up being the right call.

Even if Campbell finds the sledding difficult, Ngakoue and Fowler can manage.

If Adoree' Jackson turns out to be a stud, you will like keeping the #18 pick.

Yeah. Always a big "if" with rookies though. Honestly I'll be happy if even one of the two turns out to be good.

It's a great test early for the front four. Should be fun to watch.

I expect it to be fun to watch. Tennessee's OL is not a group of world beaters.

Yes it will be a great test.

It'll show how much they have developed from last year.

These tackles are very good, and are a big reason the tacks won last year.

Did you miss the part about Malik Hooker not being a top five talent? Drafting him that early would have been reaching too high. Think about that for a minute. I was referring to the #18 pick.

You said he wasn't available. He was if they wanted him. There were many, many people debating who was better between Hooker and Adams.

Hooker was definitely viewed by many as the best S in the draft and top 5 wasn't out of the question. Except maybe by AOL's rankings.
