I got the Titans winning 31-20.

You really think Mariota is going to put 31 on our defense? Even if they do win, I expect it to be a relatively low scoring game.

Any given Sunday, but that would require scoring with their own defense.

Lol
We got us some flaming tacks in the house. Laughing Hope you boys come back for some crow after the Poi Boy gets sprayed all over our turf. Calais has been sampling Hawaiian quisine to try to develop a taste for it. He has decided he does not like the soft consistency of Poi Sick and will just squish the package instead. Banana Banana

Hey don't get mad at me because you have a soft qb. I'm sure Jack will get a chance to say hey up close and personal. Better hope Calais doesn't fall on him...

Tacks gets smashed by Oakland and they feeling themselves in this game lol. We were beating them when Luke McCown was the qb hahaha. Have fun struggling for the rest of the year

You are kidding yourself though if you think that Cows team you saw this past Sunday is indicative of what they were last season. Whether the Harvey stuff was a big distraction or they are just not good anymore. Which happens in the NFL.

We have learned not to read too much into a first week victory. In 2014 and 2015 we started the year with "dominant" win. Only to end up being the worst team in the league each of those two years.

The Tarp Kitties moniker is outdated. A few years ago more sections became available for NFL games and we sold a lot more seats without getting any blackouts. Titans fans have to know that by now if they aren't hiding under rocks. And if you know we can be dangerous, you also know we actually do try to win because of what happened during their last game at Jacksonville.

Do you put much stock into a first week loss?

It is going to take more than a few years to live down the tarps

Get em outta here before they lower our property values.

The whole game came down to god awful OL and QB play by the Cows. The line was horrible with both pass and run blocking. Tom Savage, to make matters worse, holds the ball too long and cannot evade the pass rush. ...

Maybe you should borrow some glasses and watch that game again.

Savage got rid of the ball in less than 2.5 seconds on all but two of his reps. Perhaps you didn't notice the number of incompletions forced by the Jags LBs and Secondary when Savage actually threw quick accurate passes?

You seem to be ignoring the part where I talked about how bad their pass protection is

Property values probably on the up and up now that Irma cleaned all the trash out of the city

you abused a dismantled texans oline and think you are the AFCS favorites now? right after losing your best(read: only) WR?

yeahhhhhhhhhh you guys are totally set...... im sure just stuffing the run and letting bortles sling it all game wont be an easy gameplan for EVERY team the rest of the year......
Yes, we abused a dismantled Texans' O-Line.  I seem to recall last Christmas eve, we dismantled a healthy tack O-Line and your playoff hopes.  Is Mariota okay?  I heard he lost weight in an effort to not get hit so often.

Well, as for that simple game plan, it didn't work for Houston, and they have a better defense than you on every level.

Only WR?  We do have Hurns, who has a 1000 yard receiving season to his credit.

Who do you have to cover him?

I would suggest though you guys try watching that game again, without the homer glasses.

The whole game came down to God awful OL and QB play by the Cows. The line was horrible with both pass and run blocking. Tom Savage, to make matters worse, holds the ball too long and cannot evade the pass rush. Watson then looked like a raw rookie making his first start. The Tarp Kitties offense was able to feast a bit on a very tired Cows defense but it was nothing special. Fournette looked solid but again, nothing special.

It will not be nearly as easy against the Titans offense. Mariota gets rid of the ball quickly and can evade the rush. He can also burn you with his feet if you over pursue, unlike Savage. The Titans still have one of the best OL in the NFL, which had the league's best OT. Put behind that DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry and you have a very different offense from what you saw with the Cows.

Not saying It is a lock for the Titans, it should be competitive. If you think the Tarp Kitties are a lock to win you are fooling yourself.

Okay Thumbtacks fan, how do you explain our TOP domination in the first half? I know our OL is not special, but defenses don't get tired early in the game. I would say we feasted a lot, not a bit, on the Tinhorns defense. And we did it with Leonard Fournette more than anyone else because that was the game plan.

Derrick Henry is nothing special. You probably ignored all of the offseason chatter about Calais Campbell during the free agency period, in which he was named one of the best UFAs. He is the real deal no matter who is playing against him. Have you ever watched him play with the Cardinals? Also, Abry Jones is an upgrade over Roy Miller. That's why we re-signed him in the offseason. I know he is not going to be elite, but Tacks fans probably underrate him.

How do I explain your TOP"?

Houston could not sustain a drive due to piss poor OL and QB play.

And I get that you guys are in love with Calais Campbell. What you seem to be ignoring is that he will not be going against practice squad caliber OTs like he was in Houston. He will be going against a Pro Bowl OT and an All Pro OT.

LOL

I called their O-Line a joke in response to your first post in this thread.  Feel free to own up to being wrong about Savage's holding the ball and accuracy.
Congrats on beating a 3rd string QB and a Rookie behind a terrible OL.

Hope you get 4 turnovers and 10 sacks every game, cause that putrid O won't stand much of a chance otherwise.

Unless you plan on riding Fournette and his 3.8 ypc to victory every week.
4net bout to put a shoulder in everyone of those back-up level safeties and cornerbacks. By the second quarter they will be tired of tackling him lol. Truck stick all day

Who knows?  Maybe Fournette willl truck Jurrell Casey, too.

BTW, where's the congrats from knocking your starting QB and good OL from the playoffs? Now THAT was a Merry Christmas and a Festivus for the rest of us!

he did hold it too long relative to how long he had to throw it.

Who said the Tacks have a soft QB? Marcus Mariota's problem on that play was having his right foot in the wrong position, which could have caused any player to get hurt.

Derek Carr > Marcus Mariota. Donald Penn > Taylor Lewan. Perhaps Michael Crabtree is better than Eric Decker and Marshawn Lynch is better than DeMarco Murray.

All that said, I still don't think it will be another blowout. The Tacks certainly are better than the Tinhorns.
