To put this game into perspective... The Jags are -8.5 against the Bills, The Chiefs (playing at Arrowhead) are -8.5 Vs the titans.

I expect around 5-10k for a playoff game, but these people don't even have a recent playoff game to use as a comparison.

Bills fans travel very well to begin with, even when our team is terrible. So are people going to do everything they can to get to their first playoff game in 18 years, especially one they think they can win? Duh. This article says 20% of tickets were sold to people with New York Zip codes according to one site's data. And that only includes Bills fans from NY. I think it's likely that there will be 10-15,000 Bills fans there on Sunday.

Rochester D&C Article about the cost of getting to the game.

Quote:About 20 percent of the tickets purchased for Sunday's game were bought by people with New York ZIP codes — that's the largest representation of a home state fanbase of any "road team" playing in this weekend's wild card games, based on Vivid Seats data, said Vivid Seats Digital Content Marketing Manager Stephen Spiewak.

It looks like it's 20% of the tickets that were sold online. There were about 25K (max) available online, so that's about 5K to New York zip codes.

Unless I misunderstood, that doesn't seem all that much.

It said 25K people were looking for tickets on StubHub. It doesn't clarify if the 20% number comes from or if the 25k number includes people that purchased a ticket or if it includes requests.

When I said 25K max, I meant the number the article provided talking about 25K people looking for tickets, not the tickets alone.

10K bills fans at a playoff game isn't tough for me to imagine. I fully expect between 8 and 9K to make it down.
(or up from south and SW FL where many have moved or retired)

Not a big deal to me.

Yeah, I think 10k is a very conservative estimate. I would argue Buffalo probably has more like 15k+ on Sunday. I will be one of them.

I know that at least 7,000 tickets have gone to NY zip codes, but don't discount the transplants down there showing out as well.

Add to that the fact that Bills fans know how to do 3 things, drink, drink, and be LOUD. I bet the stadium is louder with Buf's defense on that field than it is with the Jags defense out there.

Obviously, if you guys are up, or make some big defensive plays that could shut the Bills fans up. The one thing that has me calling this game a "toss up" is turnovers. Tyrod is no god, but he does not turn the ball over. The same cannot be said for Bortles. In my mind, this is not some 50-3 game, whoever has the + in turnovers wins this game.

LOL - I was with you somewhat for a second, but  -

You couldn't be more wrong on the bolded bit.  The Jags faithful get good and loud on third down.

These are the kinds of things that drive me insane.  Do you really think your guess of 15k Bills fans vs 49k+ Jaguar fans is going to be louder?  There's literally over 3  times the amount of Jaguar fans based on your estimate and somehow Jag fans are just going to sit there while they are on defense?

I hope you come to the stadium and have fun, but when fans think they can walk in there and act like they own it, that's when trouble starts.

15k Bills fans are louder than 45k Jags fans
I need help guys. I'm used to looking at QB's in the draft we can take at #4, i'm used to discussing what coach we should be trying to get in!!! It's January!

This should be a good game. I posted a few pages back i think we can shock teams and pundits who are judging us on our last 2 games. Don't write off the Bills. They went into Atlanta and won this season and have had some good wins with a not particularly stacked roster. We know they rely on Taylor and McCoy and if McCoy isn't 100%, their O becomes a lot more manageable. They do have Kelvin Benjamin at WR who should be a good match up for Ramsey. The Bills also get good work from their TE's in the passing game. The LB's and Safeties are going to have to be smart passing coverage's off and not focusing on Taylor scrambling too much. They are a run first team and i notice we have played a few more 8/9/10 players at the line, we will have to watch out being hit deep with PA's or screen's.

The Bills D is pretty solid. They have a good secondary with White and Micah Hyde. Their D makes turnovers, just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they can't play, sadly how many fans outside Jacksonville know hoe good Telvin is?

Now i do think we have been holding back the last two weeks, for this team, just 8-8 would have been a great year, but i can't blame them for looking ahead, the playoffs must feel like the Superbowl for guys like Telvin and Hurns who have lost for years. If you look at the Seattle game, we were running deep flood routes from bunch formations that Seattle had no plan for, we haven't done anything like that since. When you get to this stage of the season, teams have 16 weeks of tape on you so they can see what your good at and what your not good at. You want a few aces up your sleeves.

This is going to be a tough, playoff game. I think both D's will dominate and it will be what O can put a drive together and add the points. Bortles just needs to play smart, not try to do too much and make the key passes we need to move the chains and get 7's. Taylor doesn't really turn the ball over unless they are chasing late so we may be fighting a field position battle.

I'm over the moon with this season and i think we can see the Bills off. Don't forget, it's the first playoff game for 52 guys on our roster, we can be nervous too!

I'm not going to argue with you. It's my opinion.

I don't think we will "own" anything. But yes, Bills fans take "fanhood" very seriously, and know how and when to be loud. We won't be sitting there silent on our phones.

Wait until Sunday. The Bills are not known for being a powerhouse on the gridiron, but the fans are legendary.

To the previous poster... "Trouble starts"?. Come on now. You remember Bryan Cox, played for Miami for years. He hated us, but he said something that should resonate. ."I hate every Buffalo fan alive. When we play in Buffalo, our fans come to support us, and they get beat up. When we play them in Miami, the Buffalo fans come down here and beat up our fans in our own stadium."

Now I am certainly not threatening anyone. I plan on being sober and not getting tossed, but don't hurl threats of "trouble" at Bills fans.

You'll be welcomed and treated kindly by the vast majority of locals in Jax.
I appreciate your stance, but he wasn't hurling a threat - he was expressing concern that visiting fans with bad attitudes may cause trouble.

Fair enough.

There probably will be. Many Bills fans will be looking for a fight. Especially in the upper decks (cheaper seats).
