It has gotta eat him alive that the Bolts missed the playoffs by a game when they had us dead to rights here, when we turned the ball over, what 2-3 times in the last two minutes and they STILL lost?!?

See YOU in a week son
Bahahaha it’s better to be in the playoffs than sitting at home.

No on manipulated anything. The Jags bet the house on Andy Dalton throwing a 40 yard TD on 4th and 12 in the final 40 seconds? Get real dude.

C'mon Man. You KNOW that the Jags willed Andy Dalton to throw a 4th and 15 Touchdown pass at the end of a game; and also paid off the Miami Dolphins players to throw the game against Buffalo just to avoid the Chargers in the playoffs.

How can you not see that?
My opinion came to be right. I always said the team I most don't want to play in the first round would be the Titans and the team I most want to play is the Bills.
NFL.com reporting that McCoy could play against us still.

^ Yup.

IMO, it could not have worked out any better for the Jags. Not only are two of the possibly dangerous playoff teams eliminated (Chargers, Ravens), but now they get to avoid facing a 3rd game against Tenn.

For whatever reason, the Jags' offense just can't seem to do much of anything against the tacks. Being crowned the AFCS Champs, while still losing 3 games to the Titans would be just an extremely hollow feeling (I believe that the tacks defense would've found a way to shut down the Jags yet again en route to another victory).

The Jags will beat the Bills. It's gonna happen. The Jags defense will be just too much for them. They'll continually force punts  (or FGs if faced against terrible starting position like the tacks game), and probably get another score or big time play. The Jags offense will only need a couple good drives (and no freaking turnovers). They'll win.

With the tacks now playing @KC, it's likely that the AFCS Champs Jags will advance while the Titans get eliminated. Good stuff. The other way around would be awful (AFCS Champs lose while Titans advance).

I remember when the Bengals won the AFCN, hosted the Chargers and lost, while their division rival advanced.
And, another year Cincy locked up the #3 seed, but lost to the Steelers as the #6 in the WC game (having lost to them in the reg season too). Big whoop for the AFCN Champ Bengals, who get eliminated by their division rival.

Awful stuff for them, but now probably avoided for the Jags. The Jags should have a big matchup against Pitt come round 2.
I still just have the feeling we "went through the motions" these past 2 weeks. We locked up the 3 seed at halftime last week (after tying) and then just kind of played.

We went out there yesterday and just sort of went through it. We were very vanilla on offense. Almost like they were playing to not get hurt.

Will he very interesting to see if they can turn it on this weekend.

I wonder how much of the game plan was impacted by it being the week before the playoffs and the team not wanting to show its hand.

I also wonder how much of the game plan was impacted by Cam Robinson's absence.

I think that was a major factor.

Especially when the most likely scenario was us playing Tennessee again.
I think the idea that the team is hiding anything in week seventeen is absurd.

Westbrook [BLEEP] the bed, so did Mickens. Cole has not been the same since he injured his ankle. Hopefully it's not an issue moving forward with Lee returning and Hurns role expanding.

I'm not saying that's for sure what happened but it does make a little more sense than you realize.

Playing conservatively in a game with no playoff implications is not absurd.

That didn't necessarily have anything to do with the poor play of the rookies receivers, but it certainly makes sense from a gameplan/ play-calling perspective.

Let your playoff opponent sort through game film from the season to find Hackett's wrinkles. No need to showcase them the week prior to the match-up in a meaningless game.

It was the cold. They’ll be back Sunday.

I'd say the more sensible explanation is that multiple players didn't have the level of desperation for the win that the titans did. That combined with some massive gaffes sealed the win for the tacks.

Yes of course but do you not see NYC4Jags good point? Why show your hand completely if you know it's a meaningless game?

Yeah...way to go out and “lay an egg” the past two weeks in order to get the Bills.

Hope you guys are one and done for the way you manipulated the playoffs.  Jags deserve it

Well maybe your team could have tried, IDK, winning some more games and then they wouldn't have been 'manipulated' out.

I was shocked Dalton threw that pass, I was think INT for sure based on the previous 2 throws.

Show your hand? Do you think there's some strategy they'd use that the titans didn't already see on film?

Absolutely.

Hackett has sprinkled in new wrinkles to his plays several times this season. Bortles has talked about it openly at pressers and Lageman has broken it down a few times as well. OCs commonly do this. They let teams see a "look" at the L.O.S. that suggests a play they've run multiple times that season - but they add a new element to it that the opponent hasn't seen on film. Very common.

Not only did Hackett refrain from that in nashville, he didn't even call many of the wrinkles he's used in games this season against opponents other than the titans.  I think his play calling was very intentionally watered down.
Hey guys!!!!
Happy New Year!!!!

Should be a fun week, and an excellent game!!!
I'm not going to lie, the Bills are SUPER lucky to be here.
Watching that Bengals TD on 4th and 12th is one of the craziest things I'e ever seen as a football fan.
I/we were happy to see we pulled the Jags as there are MANY excellent story lines. Truthfully, the way this team and season have gone it's kinda crazy they got to where they did and it sounds silly, but the 1 thing the Bills have on their side is momentum. New season, 1 week at a time and not looking ahead. Anything can happen and that's the approach. Good luck guys!!! Should be fun!!
