Didn’t see this coming at all.

If we end up with Richardson or Watkins plus Norwell? Then I’m all good for letting ARob walk.

I’d rather sign Burton (26 years old) and draft Gesicki.

Watkins will sign with the Chiefs according to Adam Schefter a few minutes ago.

I like Richardson though, especially at a reasonable price.

Super happy about Norwell, especially if we get a quality OL in the draft, Hernandez won't be there at 29 probably but anyone from the Ragnow, Connor Williams, Wynn, Daniels etc group will have me happy. Finally interior of Oline will become a strenght.

Consistent all pro? You mean 1-time all pro?

I actually meant to just type all pro but got distracted whilst typing it at work! Smile

I took it as the guy consistently produced each year on top of being an all pro this year.
The O line is the foundation.....and ours just got stronger.
I thought we would be shooting for Pugh but this is even better. Watkins probably signing with the chiefs and arob with the bears leaves us still on the market for a WR or TE though.

I really hope colvin gets a new deal with us first and foremost though.

He was never all pro.
After This signing, how are we gonna be able to keep all our defensive players?!
Wow How do we nab an all pro in free agency after last years free agency haul?
Johnny O hinted at this and some of y’all dismissed it. I’m not surprised in the least. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they draft Hernandez in the 1st to bookend with Norwell. Tom wants us to be a run 1st team and he understands it starts in the trenches. It’s time to close out games with Fournette. Something we couldn’t do against the Patriots.

This may be the last year for Dareus, Jackson,and/or Campbell. If a player develops to replace them, that could create more cap space. Jalen and Yannick are going to be expensive
Jaguars will be first team to run the ball 70 times in a game. We don't need no stinkin' receivers.
Fournette's ankles better be ready. Now on to T.Pryor (ARob lite version)

It will be a year of decisions next year and the one after it, but if we draft well it won't too much of an issue. We won't be able to keep everyone of course but that was expected. Hurns/Parnell/Dareus and Abry Jones alone bring 30M to the table if we'll cut them, then there's also Gipson/Church who have almost no dead money after 2018, Jackson may be restructured and so on.

It will be important to draft well especially on defense and develop some players (thinking of Myrick, Brown, Ankou and others).

It was a joke considering a lot of people didn't want to pay Robinson because they thought it might mortgage the future of the defense.

Oh ok, I didn't get that ahah Smile

I would have loved to keep ARob but I have to say that Norwell signing was so unexpected that it really makes me feel better after seeing ARob walk. (I'd still have tagged him probably though)
I was totally not expecting us to be in the mix for an expensive OL like him (I'm obviously happy).
Dreaming of nailing the OL on the draft as well now.
Just to put numbers in perspective - the Osemele contract was 11.7 mil per year with 25 mil guaranteed.
Zeitler got 12 mil per and 23 mil guaranteed.

Well Dave certainly wasn't lying when he said they wanted to be aggressive in FA and finish what they started and that the tag on Robinson would have prohibited them to do so. Now everyone can have a different opinion on which route it was better to go but they were surely planning to break the bank on Norwell from the start (and I didn't think it was realistic for us to go after him given the cap space of some other teams).

I like him better than Zeitler though, so if we had to spend money on OL I prefer him this year than Zeitler last year (not that i'd have complained if we brought him in of course).

Good stuff.
Hollllllllllllly !!!

Norwell got a huge contract, but he' making nearly 3 mil less per year than Sammy Watkins, and almost a full million less per year than Arob. Generally speaking, I think the interior olineman has a greater effect on the game than a WR does.
