I think it’s very clear that we once again are going to be leaning on a run heavy offense and ask Bortles to not to do much. Between signing and All Pro guard and letting Robinson walk, I don’t see how that could be disputed
Andrew Norwell was NOT drafted in 2014. His draft grade did indicate that he had a better than average chance to become a full-time starter in the NFL.

The old draft reviews commonly indicate Andrew is a fiery competitor. Some call him "old school" type of player.

Signed as a UDRFA by Carolina. Comments below stories state the New York Giants GM signed him while he was in Carolina. Their GM was hoping to also bring him in at New York.

Andrew was a solid player for Ohio State. He also played both tackle spots, and the intangible for drafting him was he could be the sixth offensive lineman.

Former Miami Hurricane, Linder, graded just 0.1 higher than Norwell in the same 2014 NFL draft. Linder was taken by the Jaguars, in part, by Jedd Fisch in round three.

I pretty much like this signing as it's pretty clear Norwell has developed into a top notch football player.
Unreal the money Watkins got. My boss is a diehard Chiefs fan and I had a really hard time not gloating when he texted me about it this morning before he looked at the #s. I like Watkins and the Chiefs, but yikes.

Greatly prefer Norwell. Keep gettin big uglies in the draft Jags! (Do add one CB at least though please)

Anyone think the bringing back Prince rumors have traction? It’d be an interesting angle to take, though this draft is loaded with good nickel prospects...maybe on a cheap contract we’d be bringing him back to backup outside CB in the event of injury?
Holy [BLEEP]. Just awake and seeing all the news.

Did not expect us to be able to sign Norwell at all. Young all pro guards are 100% worth that money, particularly for a team like us that is extremely dependent on our run game. Love it.

Arobs contract is about what I expected and still would have liked him back but Norwell softens the blow some.
This is like the 2016 Cowboys Offensive Line

Couple that with an elite D and this could be quite the dominant lines on both sides of the ball.
So the left side of the line is set. Who plays RG?

It won't be. The peeps on the Carolina Message Board seem to have a lot of respect for him whereas when we picked up Beadles the prevailing posts on the Broncos message board was "good riddance" (after i believe he was dominated in a playoff game)

Draft Lamar Jackson, a blocking TE (to play opposite M. Lewis) and we can run it 100%

.... I'll get the Ga Tech playbook.
This team!!!!!
Wow...
Now we see what Blake can do with protection and a real run game.
This guy!
A real run blocker and is great in pass protection!
Awesome

My guess would be a rookie or an aging vet who signs a small deal.
Signature Coughlin move. That man loves him some big uglies.

That may be the plan!

Norwell instantly makes us better inside.
OL makes Fournette better which makes everything better
Just as a sub-plot to mention, I’m a big fan of how we reward undrafted talent with big contracts. It sets a precedent that we value work and production over pedigree.

One of my favorite aspects of our All-League secondary last year was that we had our star stud Ramsey, yet Bouye, Gipson, & Church were all originally undrafted. Crazy.

Another mind-numbing stat: Norwell was the only Olineman in football last year to not allow a single sack or pressure (what?!? Not even a pressure?!? Granted that’s from PFF and they’re iffy on OL evaluations, but [BLEEP] if true. That’d be one of the most dominant years an Olineman has ever had in the NFL, and with an unpredictable QB to block for in Cam.)

That’s beyond nuts if he went 16 games without allowing a pressure and also graded as a top 5 run blocker.

Those are like imaginary stats.
Just with this addition we are plowing through everybody lol. What 8 man box lol

If they add another linemen at 29 oh boy
this is purely perfect

nothing else to say... another new guard and this Line is set for dominance

I think he will be gone by pick 29. Too many teams in front of the Jags need serious Oline help.

Coughlin probably relishing this as the giants were chasing Norwell - he and the Jags snatched an all-pro guard away from the team that forced TC into a brief retirement.

When seeing the news on PFT,   the first thing that came to mind is Tom Coughlin is the driving force in bringing Andrew Norwell to the Jaguars.  With him envisioning the Jaguars Offensive Line being a foundation of the team,  much like it was in the late 1990's when the Jaguars reached the playoffs 4 straight seasons.
Just an awful signing.

30 Million guaranteed?

Hahahahaha. They could have literally drafted a much cheaper OG with similar skill set. Now we just budget fudged ourselves in the future.

Our window to win a championship is a few years due to awful contracts and players expiring.
