Donald clearly doesn't know what he's doing. You don't declare victory and then show up and decide to negotiate. You get the groundwork done, get some agreements made, and then show up to talk further and sign an agreement. But Donald can't help but make it all about him before he's made any arrangements.

Kim and his family have spent 30+ years, and god knows how many lives, building up their nuclear capabilities. Did Donald really think they would give all that up for vague promises? something). Then Kim can continue to work on lessening the US presence in Korea, with the ultimate hope of unifying Korea (under guess who). And before you say "That could never happen", consider Viet Nam.

Pretty much what they said in 1961 re North VietNam. And how strong is SK really without the US behind them? Kim hopes to split the US off from Korea - Donald has talked about Korea (and Japan) "doing more". Kim hopes SK and Japan will see which way the wind is blowing, know they can't rely on the US, and become more "accommodating".
Nuclear weapons is what makes North Korea known to the world. Without nukes they are Albania.
