With respect, Trump built his brand by be coming one of the most recognized businessmen in the world and a bestselling author.

AOC is a young semi-attractive liberal in good standing.

I disagree with the coin paradigm.

if you look at what they did before they became politicians, you're right, the comparison makes no sense.

if you look at what they've done since they became politicians, the comparison makes a lot of sense.

Bully the press, say anything to get your name into the headlines, never apologize, never correct any mistatement, interject into any ongoing political discussion with a view that is at least twice as extreme as any of the existing views in the marketplace, make sure people see you as a fighter.
Billionaire gives up his privacy and control of his financial interests in order to serve his country.

Bartender who can't make ends meet seeks fame and fortune in politics, to fleece the people in order to become a millionaire out of nothing just as those who did before her.

That's about as opposite, heads/tails, as it gets.

I'm only commenting on how they interact with the media.  When it comes to using the press to get their name out there they are both skillful masters.  The difference being only the policy's they espouse.  Hence the 2 sides of the same coin comment.

Donald Trump: Cutting taxes and regulations will attract business investment

AOC: THE GREEN NEW UNICORN.

I'll expect your apology in iambic pentameter.

Republicans since 2006: Let's build a fence and make it strong as possible!

Trump in 2015: not a fence.  A wall.  And Mexico will pay for it!

Find the most extreme view in the marketplace, and double it.

Republicans since 2012: the corporate tax rate should be lowered to 25%.

Trump in 2015: not good enough.  20%.

You consider building a fence or cutting corporate taxes extreme views? The Dems signed off on the fence in 2006. Corporate taxes should be zero (which was part of the Fair Tax proposal).

Dems in the Senate did sign off on a fence in 2006, but by 2015 we found out they didn't intend to follow through with all the money that would need.
Before Trump entered the arena, the positions were, "finish the fence as promised" vs. "forget about the fence, what we have is good enough"

The Fair Tax was a tax reform intended to be revenue neutral.  There was math behind it.  Eliminate this tax, but make this other new tax, same revenue.
Trump did not propose any new or increased taxes to make up for the lowered corporate rate.

Lol.  "To serve his country."  Wonder why he never did that as a soldier if he's so passionate about it.

So, to serve as POTUS isn't serving the country? Not that I think any POTUS in recent memory has actually served this country in the way they are meant to, but the position of President is in fact to serve the country. I can't stand Trump but he did give up a lot to be POTUS. I

Obama never served in the military either. Clinton didn't either.

So which of the others avoided service due to bone spurs?  It's not that they didn't serve; it's that daddy's money saved him from it.
