Cap hit:

Total cash:

Thanks for the links. I didn't know that there was a web page where salaries were broken down in such detail for a given position.

According to those numbers he makes more than about half the 64 top paid CBs, and a few of those above him may not be starters. It seems my guess was pretty good.

(08-12-2018, 11:07 AM)Jags02 Wrote: [ -> ]Be sure to check out those links that knarnn posted. They show Hayden as right about #40 with his cap hit and right about #30 in cash earnings.

So if you believe the analysis that Hayden was the 68th best CB then Upper's point stands.

There are a lot of corners playing on their rookie contracts that would be paid significantly higher had they been in free agency. He's being paid right about what he should be considering his performance.

I only looked at his AAV on spotrac so yeah for 2018 he is cheaper since we backloaded it. We can't cut him next year so he'll be a top 30 paid CB, and then I'm sure he'll be cut before his very expensive 2020 season.
I think Yann and Fowler got into a shouting match after practice

Is there any question about who the problem is? If he doesn't perform in the preseason, cut the him. He is a fool who comes in and starts fights in his first few practices.

I'd let him get into a fight with Minnesota and have no one break it up. Let Minnesota rough him up some. Then if he doesn't fall in line, perform and stop the penalties the team should tell the coaches to get rid of him.

There is no place on this team for his attitude, foolishness on and off the field.

Sounds like Yannick was the aggressor. Should we cut him?
I’d love to be a fly on the wall in Coughlins office when these boys get an earful.

Yannick was addressing the stuff from earlier in practice where Fowler hit a teammate late out of bounds. Yannick was being a leader and putting a stop to Fowler's crap. This team hasn't gotten into fights and Fowler comes in and there are 2 fights.

Sorry dude. I’m a Yannick fan but this was a clear lapse in judgment. This is not how you address something. Coughlin would be the first to tell you that.
Pretty weird to see same position group players in a fight. Even weirder to see exact same position fight.

Since you are so happily eating crow, you may want to revisit your Blair Brown prediction as well...

Tut, Tut.  I refuse to eat crow over Blair Brown.  I admitted before my predictions that I was biased.  :-)

On that subject, I still think he can play in the NFL.  The Jag Brass obviously likes him but hey when you have a Telvin Smith how you gonna get a Blair Brown on the field?  He played MLB at Ohio and I thought he could transition to strong, I was mistaken.  They like him at Wil.  Alas, that is why I am fixing electro-mechanical equipment for a living and not judging NFL talent.
Ok Ramsey you are a god and all but that tweet is overboard. I'll let someone not on their phone post it if they would like, or I'll do it in a couple of hours when I get home.

Oh please training camp fights are the norm.  I'd be more disappointed if they didn't start fighting,
LOL some of ya'll need to chill out and relax. It's training camp... Fights happen on every team, every year during camp.

Let them get that crap sorted out now before the season starts. This is nothing.
Amazing that this is the first reports of scraps. It has been hot and miserable. Tinderbox waiting to be sparked. Typical football camp.

Yup, grown [BLEEP] men in the middle of training camp. Dealing with very high heat, while practicing/playing a very physical game. It was literally a matter of time before some aggression and tempers started to flare. It's natural.

It's about history more than just one fight at camp. In isolation it's nothing, but it's a pattern that has cost the team in the past. He is a backup and he does this once again after practicing only a few times. Nothing has changed and he will cost the team again when it matters in games.

You would like them to handle it inside where no one can see, but it had to be done. If Fowler doesn't change, let him go. This defense is too good to be held back by a me first player with an attitude problem.

Hmmm I don't see this on Jalen's page... did he delete it? Must of got the word quick from TC lol.

Kind of sucks to be that reporter now, certainly won't get any interviews with Jalen. Reporter is just doing his job, but players do hate when they release negative stuff like that which more than likely got resolved in the locker room 30 minutes later.

End of the day no big deal, must of been a hot and humid one on the field.
I miss those days where the players and coaches went out after practice and got ice cream and held hands and sang kumbaya

Until training camp began when the team opted to keep Blair at WILL, we all thought he was moving to SAM because Marrone flat out said as much.
