Packers trade first round pick Ha Ha Clinton-Dix for a 4th round pick.
I guess our deal is very good.

This is a great deal for us. We weren't going to resign this guy.
Very smart to get some serious value for him before we let him walk.
Would much rather have had him turn into a stud here in Jax, but not every first rounder pans out.

Who gets his roster spot?

Radio is really harping that the coaching staff was unhappy with Fowler in the London game. Not much eloborration, does anyone have any insight?

From Rams website:
"In terms of compensation, Los Angeles will send a 2019 third-round pick and 2020 fifth-round pick to Jacksonville for Fowler. Should L.A. receive a third-round compensatory pick, that will go to Jacksonville to complete the trade in lieu of the team’s original third-round selection. If the Rams receive multiple 2019 third-round comp picks, the club will trade the compensatory selection that is closest to the beginning of the round."

I doubt they are getting a Comp pick after their free agency frenzy.

Man, that's steep for 1/2 season rental.

Doesn’t matter. They’ll be hurt in two weeks.

Good question.
I honestly don’t mind the trade or compensation.

If Fowler gets any production in the playoffs, it will be easily worth it for the Rams

From the start he'd been underwhelming....sometimes was in the thick of things
but, Yannick rules.
so good-bye Dante and good luck to you.

The tanking has begun. Please trade more players Jags front office.

From Fowlers perspective....
Talk about a golden opportunity! Traded from a 3-5 team he isn't able to start on (not his fault) to a 8-0 team he will be able to start on that is a 3-4 defense (most here agree Fowler should be in a 3-4) with Donald, Suh, and Brockers! Wow. He has a chance to catch fire while in the spotlight of a 8-0 team with SB written all over them and then cash in FA. He honestly couldn't of asked for anything better, and I'll be watching that Rams defense closely to see how Fowler plays in a 3-4 now.

Well - Smoot can be active on game days I guess. Roster spot will probably be about depth at DB, OL, or TE since we're thin there.

Yup. He's gonna be a monster there because their coach and staff actually knows how to use players.

We now pick four times in the first three rounds. I like it. Already we've drafted Hyde with a fifth round pick, and Kessler with a seventh. Could be a nice haul next year.
And by the way, if the Rams don't win the Super Bowl with all of that talent, something's seriously wrong.

I'm happy, I was expecting a 4th rounder or so for him.

Now we can package those picks and move up in the first round and get that Cornell QB that no one else in the league knows or cares about.

Seems like a solid deal for us. We aren't contending for a playoff push this year. From the sounds of it he wasn't a good guy in the locker room. At best he is a back-up depth pass rusher with average ability.

Excellent trade
