This pick could be a double negative, not only do we miss on Butler or Gardner but we also miss on Jack going to his most natural position in Will if they plan on having Williams take over for Telvin. Would much rather Jack go to Will and then get a true MLB. I hope Dave outsmarted everyone with this one

Most didn't know who he was but liked the highlights tape he made of himself. With that said, Baalke is a NFL GM, he should be the one that could see the talent but he couldn't. It doesn't matter how us fans felt about the player, it never has. He also isn't the size Baalke wants. One could be be Ray Lewis and he's a inch undersized Baalke won't touch him. Puka Nacua underwhelmed athletically yet just seen the rookie record for catches and yards. Baalke wouldn't of touched him with a 10 ft pole even if he fell to a UDFA.

Urban Meyer and Joe Cullen may have had as much to do with Quincy's dismissal as anyone as they switched to a 3-4 defense.
Jets run a 4-3 that makes more sense for Williams size and traits. Plus he looked like crap in Wash's 4-3 early on.

Yeah - I hate seeing good talent wasted.
Regime changes will do that though - and we've had plenty.
4-3/3-4 matters little outside of getting the right linebackers IMO.
We're in bear front, nickel or dime more than anything anyway.

I think wingard as NT would be great. Lol
But I prefer two huge DTs and 2 athletic DEs that can both close running lanes and go around pass pro, if they are smart and listen to coaching anyway. Then linebackers fill gaps or drop depending on slot and TE movement... 4-3 is so much better in every situation

This, Baalke signed a guy that's about the same size to play MLB in our 3-4. I would definitely like my LBs to be bigger but some times there are outliers. Williams is one of the outliers that plays bigger than he is and if Baalke seen the talent he would of kept him, even if it was for just depth and development. I have given Baalke the benefit of doubt but I'm starting to think he doesn't have an eye for talent with what I've seen the last few years
Isnt this the guy that lowered the boom on Derrick Henry last year in Nashville and completely shifted the momentum in our favor?
If so, than that is more significant than what Muma, Miller, and even Strange and Bigsby did all of this year. Never should have cut him.
