William Ellison owned had the most slaves of any BLACK slave owners in SOUTH Carolina, meaning he owned 53 at the most, 40 when he died.

The number you cite from 1830 included free blacks who purchased the freedom of family members and were then legally considered their owner. Either way, 12,740 slaves is less than 1% of the total.

So quit trying to deflect blame from white slave owners with horse [BLEEP].

Of all slaves in America they only counted for 5% of the global african slave trade and nearly 100% of the global african slave trade were originally offered by other Africans.  The euro-centric view of slavery is actually pretty childish for an institution that traces back through all recorded history.

None of which has anything to do with the post to which you replied, or with the drivel posted by The Drifter.

What exactly is to be gained from any debate in this forum?

And just coincidentally, they're all non-white.  And three out of the four were born in the United States.

How can anyone excuse that kind of behavior in a President?
You are ignoring the whole of the back-and-forth context. You are conveniently ignoring the entire response of Trump which was go back to your countries of ancestry that you obviously have more respect for, figure out why they are so [BLEEP] and then return to actually produce legislation here to fix our perceived issues. It is not a coincidence that they are not white, nor does it factor into the discussion. They all ran on the non-white platforms, and their extremist views depend on that. In the end, it is their divisive, anti-American rhetoric that is the real topic. Let's not forget that each has been in the limelight for hate and condemned. Unfortunately, censure proceedings didn't pass with identifying the individuals specifically because of political pressures.

This thread went off the rails long ago, and I'm trying to figure out when and where.
I came across the little piece of bolded text above and was shocked.  No one has responded to it yet.
It flat doesn't make sense to me.
The only possible explanations I can fathom paint B2hibry as an ignoramus and bigot.  I must be missing something.

Let's stop with the "bigot" and "racist" [BLEEP] tag when someone offers up an opinion or point of view different than your own or lamestream media. Did you have a coherent thought you wanted to share on the bold? Use your brain, not trash mouth!

Maybe just time for the Admins to shut it down at this point.

Let's be honest...no you wouldn't!
The problem is we don't actually listen to eachother.

We just form our opinion, dig in, ignore all other sounds and continue shouting.
Calling for the admins to shut this down is lame. It's also lame to call someone a racist and a bigot.

Imo, B2Hibry has not done an adequate job explaining what his point was. Blacks as a whole did not support the confederacy in any meaningful way. Just because you can find instances of it, does not make both groups equally complicit. If Bullseye had claimed that no black supported it, it would be a reasonable defense. I don't see that anywhere in this thread. So, I'm still not quite sure why it's being brought up.

I'll take more fishing videos, though.
I have thought about shutting down this thread, even though I am a participant in it (as a member NOT as an admin).  I haven't though, even though it's gone off-topic and the reason why is that so many issues are being discussed and different points-of-view are being presented.  Do I agree with everything personally?  Certainly not.

Politics much like religion is a difficult subject to discuss.  It's very easy for people that are normally level-headed to become "un-hinged" or get personal.  I've tried to moderate the personal attack stuff out the best that I can.  I personally like to debate "the other side" or discuss subjects with people that I don't agree with.

I would like to see more discussion and debate and less personal attacks on people.  If you don't like someone's point of view either express it respectfully or refrain from making a comment publicly.  This thread got quite heated up a few pages back between members that I have a lot of respect for and value their participation on the forum.  I don't want to censor anything or anybody, I just want people to be able to express their feelings or their beliefs as long as it's respectful to other members.  By the same token, if other members or users express an opposing viewpoint, they should also be able to do so without "harassment" or insults.

Just chill.

My final piece of advice is to start a new thread to discuss some of the many topics brought up in this thread.  Slavery, racism, reparations, etc.  My only two pleas are to keep to the topic at hand and be respectful to one another even if you don't agree with what they have to say.  After all, we are still one.

I'll close this thread tomorrow unless one of the others of the moderating team decide to close it before that.

I'd go with the mullet, unless your worm is a night crawler. A really impressive night crawler, at that.
Maybe non-white platform was a bad choice of words, but you have to admit that The Squad leans heavily on their identity to drive their policy. This puts identity at the center of their platform. I think it's best represented here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKzj4EZ1n7Y

Their focus is the grievances felt by "marginalized" groups and their goal is to bring about change in how the straight, white community interacts with those groups. Anyways, I'm not going to speak on behalf of the person that posted that, but identity is at the root of The Squad's messaging. Maybe the original poster should correct it from non-white to identity to be more sensitive, but, either way, I think identity politics leads to more division.

Really? I’ve caught some REALLY BIG FISH with my rig.  I’m not looking for those massive  keepers.  Just doing some catch and release.

Also, escaping from the metaphors a bit, I think just having a boat brings in those hotties.  Idk what it is about a boat, but they flock to them like moths on a patio light.  If I ever find myself single, my first purchase may have to be a boat.
