If we lose Tyler Davis...

Nepotism. that's a Dan Mullen guy from UF who's in UM's coaching tree. Would've rather kept Costin over him, Bryan has a "higher celing" but he just doesn't have the awareness or work ethic to translate the many physical gifts he has.

By now we know what Bryan's ceiling is and he's hit it.

Probably the reason they retained Taven Bryan is that he is loaded with physical potential and talent, and they think that they can make him into something.  They probably cannot figure out why he never panned out.  They look at the guy, and he's a physical specimen, and they think, well, let's give him one more shot with some new coaches.  They blame the old coaches, and they think they can get something out of him because they are better coaches.

^That's probably what they think.  It's not what I think.
Bryan is still from the Jim McElwain era

Wait until he starts racking up the stupid penalties like he always does. That is the most undisciplined player I have ever seen. He's like an Indy car whose gas pedal is stuck wide open and it has no steering wheel.
Oh they are set to make a ton of moves it seems.

Just read that the waiver priority for the Jags is if they put in 5 claims, they will receive all 5. They don’t lose their priority if they make a claim.

We have first priority until week 3

Beautiful.

I was under the impression that if we used our 1st waiver position on a player, we jumped back to 32nd but apparently that’s not the case.

There's going to be a second, smaller wave of cuts, as teams make waiver claims and have to cut someone who made their 53 man roster.

It's a common trap to fall into. Physically talented athlete who just can't get the game from the eyebrows up. Different staff thinks they can fix it. Bryan is sort of like the DT version of Blake Bortles.

OK. You got me with that one.  Laughing
In the presser of the post cut to 53, Urban indicated they will be active in using the waiver wire 1st position.

Scratching my head on these as well.
Did they keep any wide receivers? LOL

Jags are going to destory the bottom 3 rounds next year!  Hopefully Urban and find some Diamonds in the rough in those rounds.

They value Tyson Campbell way more than Jones. I’d much rather have a guy like Campbell sticking to his man but not getting his head turned in time. Jones got smoked a few times yesterday by a future UPS man.

The imbalance between the number of offensive and defensive players will quickly be closed when waiver wire players are signed.  I highly suspect the Jaguars will sign a running back, wide receiver and tight end.  When they do, they will likely cut 3 defensive players.  That will make it 24 offensive to 26 defensive players.  If they were to do one more, it would be even.

Why keep more defensive players right now?  I'm guessing that they must believe that they have more talent on defense and are hoping that they might be able to swing a trade with another team for another late round draft pick.

We have a new scheme and a new coaching staff.  Meyer obviously must not be convinced that Bryan has definitively hit it.
