Just the same nice and comfortable polite door mats of the league.  No coach was going to get too many more wins out of this team this season. The jags can improve a lot with a smart offseason. I hope it happens. The past is over. I hope this team hires the right coach. If not, I know you all cant wait to roast him.  These players need to get the killer instinct like the good teams have  around the league. Hopefully the next coach can bring that while still being a players coach

Lol, Gus and Marrone worked hard unlike lazy Urbz. They still were criticized but at least we knew they were trying not just phoning it in every day.

As someone who only watches college stuff prior to the draft, I had no knowledge of Urban Meyer outside of the "he wins and turns things around everywhere he goes" I think it only hit me personally that it was a bad hire was when people pointed out that he never called plays, has a low football IQ and essentially is just an over hyped recruiter. At that point it's kind of crazy to think he got hired.

Same here. And I've been to bat for him in this thread when the firing was first announced.

I thought he was some type of offensive guru! But after reading this thread it's as you say, he was a recruiter. And then after seeing his football IQ was low...it definitely was a bad hire.

No he spoke to the corporate football world.  Buzz words, winning culture and speaking the business man's language.  This was his biggest recruiting score ever.

Too bad is screwed us over.
Many of you were clued into this from the beginning....

This can't be true. He says he gets less time in practice than time in college? They are limited to something around 20 hours in college because they still have classes. If NFL players are putting in less time than college, that is terrible.

Since when do college football rules apply to Urban Meyer?

NFL players have it pretty damn good these days, no more 2 a days and practice is what, 2-3 hours? Coaches also can't really talk to players much outside of OTAs and Camp. Film on Monday, 3 hours t-f with a walk through sat sounds about right, 18 hours or so. I'm sure most players also condition and put in time in the weight room, but not so much mid season. I think what Urbs is referring to is the year round access he has to his CFB players, you don't get anywhere near that much face to face time in the NFL.
Shazam!!!: Was Urban being paid to tank games??? Explains a lot!

Maybe Bevell too, paid to tank and make the offense awful... it would explain a lot.

Don't you have some homeschooling to get back to?
The Urban Meyer brand is no longer desirable.

Perhaps he was late on his payments.  I heard he was getting a little behind.
