It's almost zero the 40 time for me, and all the ridiculous jumps, agility drills, and that wave drill at the combine. Hutch was robotic and actually fell down during the wave drill, and then Walker gets up there and looks smooth as butter changing direction and flipping his hips. He has way more OLB skills than Hutch does. Now if he can just develop some pass rush moves...

Why do we always have the wrong draft fits? We need offense and the mid round picks and teams with multiple picks are going to clean up.We seem to be in prime position to over draft.
Thia team has not done a good job of positional awareness. Like exploiting waiver wire moves. Front office makes me nervous.
What do you consider a swim move? I imagine a swim move for an EDGE is just what most people call an inside counter. You can't really do what is considered a real swim move from the EDGE, it's an IDL move. I imagine this counts in your book though, and that's basically the entirety of Hutch's moves lol.

But when drafting this high I always felt as though you need three things… 1) you want to see someone have the expected physical toolset, size, athleticism, etc… 2) you want to have seen the production 3) no off the field issues or personality concerns. And of course the big concern with Walker is that you just didn’t see the production. Not a lot of sacks, not a lot of tackles for loss, not a ton of impact plays. All the talk has been that the design of the system had him just hold the line and clean up plays. I haven’t paid much attention at all to the draft this year but finally checked out some highlights of Walker last night. And they are pretty underwhelming. Just didn’t get in the back field much. But does seem like a big hustle guy who runs up and down the line. And his chase down tackle in the national title game was a potential game changer as he saved a TD. But it’s weird to think Kirby Smart had a guy who is a first overall NFL draft talented pass rusher and basically used him to just hang out on the line and clog up lanes. Or is our vision for him to do the same? Hang out on the line and clog up plays but not really disrupt the QB? I can’t imagine that is true as you don’t take a guy first overall to do that.
For all the potential flaws with Hutchinson that he has peaked as a player, the guy has the size and athleticism. He has the production. And he seems to check off on the personality side as well. Even if his floor was just a solid player that averaged 6 sacks a season for the next 7 or 8 years, I still think we’d take that. Even a guy like Icky. He seems to check off all the boxes.
Either way, none of these guys would be first overall in a normal year. So the expectation for them will be unrealistic based on their overall skillsets.
Exactly. All of them, except Sauce, would be mid-first round at best. We are foolish to lay elite expectations on any of them.

I would figure at least #78 and a fifth round. Maybe if the Cards also give back a 2023 pick, say 4th round?
it depends on who is on the table, whether they want any of those guys, or if they think they will still be around at 33.
Depending on who's there, I could see 33 and 65 being the cost, but I just don't feel like we're going to move up tonight. Could be gas, you never know.

The attempts are not brilliant or funny, so I'm struggling to see the purpose behind them, snowy. At least be realistic and name an RB.
I didn't name a rb on purpose cause it would be a smart move for jags to draft a RB, espasspley one like James cook. Both Robson, and Entine are comeing back from injurys. Entine a very very serious one were ussassley player is never the same.
....wait, you think James Cook at R1 P1 would be a smart move?
I apologize for underestimating just how far off the deep end you've gone.

Yes, absolutely I do. Baalke's career is not at risk though. Khan is never gonna fire him or it would've been done by now after the whole "clown out" movement. Khan won't even hire an EVP to oversee the guy. Baalke knows he has free reign to do whatever he wants with no consequences. For God's sake, why can't you see this? Baalke is here for the long haul, no matter what happens. The only way he gets fired is if Shad sells the team or Shad steps down and let's Tony take over.

You can't have stars at every position. They are at least average. Average is good, for this team. We have other positions where we just flat out suck.

When the best you have is average you not going to win much in the trenches.
I would like to see the Jaguars trading into the bottom half of the 1st round. Maybe New England at 21? As the Patriots have had a few drafts where they traded out of the 1st round to stack picks. That would cost a 2nd and 3rd to do that.
Anyways, later round trade ups will be nice to see at least.

I just don't see any clear-cut guaranteed star. Especially one that will step right in and be really good off the bat. Quite frankly, I think it's a bad year to have number one overall. If there was indeed a clear cut number one, I don't think you'd see so many varying opinions.
So I'll sit back, watch, not 'punch any holes in the wall', hope they get it right (and IMHO we're not going to know this right away), and REMAIN A FAN.
