I don't have that long to invest. I've given this team 25+ years. Enough is enough. Drafting Walker would completely break my spirit and it's already cracked. I pray that we do the right thing and draft a "safe" player.
I've always liked Walker just not at 1. At least we finally get that 3-4 DE that we have needed since the switch
all of us have our opions on who jags should take, who we think they will take, and all of that.  there is a person on youtube that has reminded me of something, and this person is right no matter what happens in draft come gameday we will stil lbe cheering the jags on.

We haven't needed a 3-4 DE. We are fine at that spot.
I wouldn't have taken Walker at 1, but for a change I think I am going to be giving the pick a higher than the average poster on here.
I don't know if he's being diplomatic here, a team player, or completely honest, but Josh Allen likes the idea of either Walker or Hutch if this NFLN reporter is to be believed. Edit: when I copied the link, I didn't realize I copied josh Allen's tweet. I guess it does represent what he thinks. I wonder why he thinks so highly of Walker.

Why can't he play OLB? He's obviously not built like your average one, but he is 100% athletic enough to do it and we have seen him do some crazy stuff in pass coverage and trailing as a run defender.
I'll root for him but yeesh I really don't like it at all. Hope I'm wrong. I would've bought a Hutch jersey tomorrow night but theres zero chance I'm buying a Walker jersey

If you call average play at best fine, then ok.
Looking forward to a new GM after this year and selecting Will Anderson #1 overall next year.

It's a whole different position with many different nuances, he has never seen or done. Remember when we tried to turn QB Matt Jones into a WR? That didn't work out so well. You don't draft guys #1 overall to teach them a completely new position. That's asinine. As far as being athletic, so was Mike Mamula. He blew everyone away at the Combine and was drafted way earlier than he should have been. That didn't work out either. If we do take Walker over Hutchinson, it's 100% due to one thing, Baalke's hatred of Harbaugh.

If we're picking #1 again next year then a new GM wont matter. Taking Walker this year, or Anderson next year wont matter. It'll mean that Lawrence flopped and we're royally screwed as a Franchise regardless, so who cares about anything else.

Average play is good play for this team. We completely suck at most of the other positions.

What a wild climb.

This pick gives me the same feeling the Chaison pick gave me. And I don't like it.

It doesn't matter how bad Baalke screws up, Khan will never fire him. Screwing up this draft, likely means we screw up Trevor Lawrence as well and who knows how long it would take to find another franchise QB? It took us 25 years to be in a position to get Trevor.

Fair enough.
Deep breaths.
Travon Walker PFF grades last year out of defensive lineman:

160th Defensive Grade

262nd Pass Rush Grade

PFF isn't the end all, it's just a tool to help guide.... but I would say that's pretty concerning to be a #1 pick with those grades.

So, picking the lesser of two pass rushers (in your opinion) is going to ruin Trevor?  If we're worried only about Trevor, we better get him a weapon or a bodyguard at #1.  While I agree that the production and obvious fit is Hutch, Walker's talent and potential are also great.  If Pederson signs off on it, I'm willing to suspend my disbelief and let it play out.  We'll see how he progresses throughout the season.  And even engage in the feel good hype of rooting for him.

They literally cannot pick a bad player.  Maybe a lesser one.  Or more likely simply a different one.
Hey all, hope your all going ok. Been following from a distance the last few weeks but ive gotta say im worried we are going to do it again. Hutchinson has been the #1 ranked guy since players declared and it was always between him and Thibs but why are we the only team that seems to rate Walker this highly? Im not saying hes going to be a bust but you dont need to outsmart yourself with the #1 pick.

Lets hope Kevin Costner gets a phone call from his GM in the morning asking him to 'make a splash'.
