I agree. It's definitely a process. The complication in this
specific instance is the "generational QB" playing on a team that has seemingly been regressing weekly after the absolute disaster of perhaps the worst HC hire in NFL history last season.
We may disagree with getting rid of Doug, in principle, but I wonder if the instant emotional response from the fanbase to news that the team is keeping him and running
this season back will cause more of an uproar than the potential gains the team may make in keeping Doug and gaining continuity.
Its an interesting philosophical debate stretching past the field. Of course, it's a debate I'd much rather we not have to entertain. But I don't think these types of issues pop up all that often in the NFL, so at least its an interesting discussion? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
