I guess, lots of people hyped them up to have an above average defense. I was confused with how many points they allowed.

Their problem since 2014 has been Charles Kelley not the talent.

I thought the same thing about Florida. The best defense in the country doesn't give up 38 points to Tennessee.

"Best defense in the country" was stupid to say since they played UMASS, Kentucky and North Texas to start off, but I seriously didn't think them losing half their defense last year was going to make them this bad against a team that has struggled against everyone they played. 

 

It was not on the team, it was on the coaches period. McElwain and Nussmeyer completely [BLEEP] the entire team. They went into halftime 21-3 with a 2nd string QB 217 yards 2 TDs 0 Ints and started 3rd quarter rushing only. They basically wore out the defense by playing soft AF and expecting Tennessee to not be able to do anything. It was clear as day what happened with this team. Complete coaching ineptitude. Period. This wasn't on the players on either side of the ball.

How is it 100% the coach's fault when we are missing talent on defense?
