I see your point on the QB, they always get some bias. I think Bowers has had a great year with a ton of catches, but he's not been impactful the way BTj has. He's like Evan last year, the check down guy who reaps the benefit of everyone else not being very good. Just my opinion of course, but I can also see BTj getting ignored based on the invisible team that employs him.
This was essentially my point.
I think BTJ is the second best rookie this year behind only Daniels but he probably won't even be top 5 in voting.
Bowers has really been incredible though and it's not just dump offs. That dude is balling.

At our draft party this year we had three guys who were begging that Bowers dropped to the Jags. Seeing what you have and knowing what we know...would you trade BTj and the extra picks Baalke got for Bowers straight up? I don't think I would, but he's clearly going to be a great player once they fix the QB problem.

Bowers is as good as advertised coming out of College. Dude is the real deal and should be for a long time. We couldn't have went wrong with either him or BTJ. I'll take BTJ and the picks though definitely. I seen a quote from Engram today on twitter, he said BTJ is the most polished rookie WR he has ever been around.

I did a little digging....the rookies Evan's been around:
2017: Hunter Sharp, Travis Rudolph, Darius Powe, Ed Eagan, Marquis Bundy
2018: Alonzo Russell, Quadree Henderson, Jawill Davis
2019: Darius Slayton
2020: Austin Mack
2021: K. Toney, David Sills
2022: none
2023: Parker Washington, Elijah Cooks
2024: David White, Josh Cephus
Kind of a backhanded compliment when you think about it

Bowers is who I wanted in the draft but i knew he wouldn't be there. Bowers is the greatest college TE of All Time imo and i think he will end up being a HOF if he stays healthy. He is much more than just dump offs. You can spread him out wide and use him like a WR if you want and he is a good blocker as well. I'm very happy with BTJ though and glad he's our guy.
In a season of crumbs of positivity, BTJ is those crumbs. Guys gonna be a stud. He's showing that rookie progression but hasn't hit a wall yet. He's getting better with his route running and finding spots in the D.
He's already made himself the #1 WR and don't see Kirk or Gabe replacing him anytime soon.
BTJ's numbers should be even higher, that's the scary and most frustrating part about his rookie season so far. He's potentially on par with guys like Chase and Jefferson going into 2025. HOPEFULLY... we land the right coaching staff with the right mentality to get him the football more often and consistently moving forward.

BTJ could easily have another 150-200 yards if it wasn't for some misses by Trevor and Mac. Dude is the real deal. Could be easily more if they made a point to get him the ball early and often

...or if we had a second receiving threat...
He's gonna be a great WR for another team.

Thomas should have another TD too, but he dropped a perfectly thrown pass from Lawrence, about 6 yards out.

Engram made the Pro Bowl in 2020 and has “been around” Justin Jefferson, who was a rookie in 2020, and is considered by many as the best receiver in the game right now.
Engram has “been around” the following rookie wide receivers at the NFL combine: DeDe Westbrook, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Curtis ‘Deebo’ Samuel, Zay Jones broke the NCAA receptions record , and future triple crown WR Cooper Kupp.
I’m sure Engram has been around plenty more rookie receivers throughout his life, other than just his teammates.
When Engram says Thomas is the most polished rookie WR he’s ever been around, that is a big time compliment.

Congration. You done it?
I kinda wonder if Engram was just saying that BTJ is really shiny. That would be a unique compliment.
105 yards today
With mac Jones at qb
Wild
He straight smokes fools.
