Quote:The difference I see right now between Poz and Myles Jack is that Poz comes downhill hard on the running plays, while right now, the very inexperienced Jack is playing like he ought to be playing weakside linebacker and not middle linebacker.

Maybe it's the lack of experience, and maybe he's really out of position at MLB.

From what I've heard they are force feeding him the defense and the best way to learn it all is by playing the MLB spot as often as possible. In theory it will make him better equipped to play outside linebacker week 1.

At the scrimmage on Friday night, he stared 1-5. And now he's getting picked off frequently, some of the INTs going back for six.

Is anyone else worried about this?

You've got to be f*#king kidding me....

Exactly, Poz's read step is probably second nature having played 43 MLB so long. Jack will get to the point where he isn't second guessing.

One can make the argument that Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/pl...etBe00.htm) didn't hit his "stride" until his 6th year in the league, he wasn't asked to do much the first 4-5 years of his career because the team around him (specifically the running game and defense) was so strong, Blake's situation has been a complete 180. Take a look at Eli Manning's career stats (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/pl...nnEl00.htm), one can make that argument that he (like Roethlisberger) didn't his stride until year 6 either, the point I'm trying to make is it takes time.

Blake has proven to be a legitimate play-maker with all kinds of upside, but in my humble opinion, we won't see the "peak" of his upside for a few years. It simply takes time for QB's to digest the nuances of an entire playbook, and perform at an optimal level (65% completion percentage/high TD/low interception #'s), the fact that Blake put up monster #'s last year is a testament to his raw talent. Once he fully digest all of the nuances of Greg Olsen's playbook, along with what defenses are trying to do to him, look out. This whole "franchise QB' thing isn't exactly a linear process, there are peaks and valleys along the way, what should be exciting for Jaguar fans is our guy has proven to be an absolute stud (albeit mistake prone) but still has plenty of room to get better. When Blake gets to the level of guys like Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Roethlisberger, Brady, Manning etc... (dictating what defenses do to you) this offense will be impossible to defend.

Usually only takes a couple hours on the smaller things like those

<p class="" style="font-size:26px;">hard not to notice how much <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/MylesJack'>@MylesJack</a> signs for fans daily. Pretty cool. Probably 15-20 minutes every practice.

<p class="" style="font-size:26px;">security had to tell <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/MylesJack'>@MylesJack</a> to stop signing. Then he signed more and got pulled away again. Nice job by rookie.

Tweet from Eugene Frenette (@GeneFrenette) - Bradley says #Jaguars put a lot more on plate of Myles Jack to learn defense as a MLB than ever did with Telvin Smith last year at WLB.

Haha, good idea!
Looks like we should be going into New Jersey pretty darn healthy. Let's keep it that way.
Now you're just trying to jinx it...  Wallbash

Also, not Jags related but our backup D might be in for a good night on Thursday...

Take this fwiw, but I've heard from a couple reliable sources at #Jets camp that Christian Hackenberg has been brutally bad.

I think they are expecting Jack to take over at MLB either next season or sometime this season.

Ramsey to sacks off blitzes today

</div>
I been saying since before the draft Ramsey is best at nickle and FS, he will improve as a outside CB but right now, he will be a stud at nickle and in space
I'm in the second pic with crazy hair in my Jordan shirt holding an Arob jersey.  Got Boselli, Jimmy, Telvin, and Jack to sign it today!

Would not shock me. He was not very good at Penn State.

Maybe it's the lack of experience, and maybe he's really out of position at MLB.
If I had to characterize it, I'd say Poz is more the traditional MLB/ILB who can take on a G, put his shoulder into him, stand him up, shed, and make the tackle.  Jack does not seem to be that type yet, based SOLELY on the scrimmage.

However, I don't know, based on that same scrimmage, if knowledge of the scheme, lack of confidence, lack of size, or some combination of those things and more are impacting Jack negatively.  The strange thing is that in short yardage, when things tend to be very physical, he was there and made two short yardage stops.  But in normal down and distance, runs between the tackles at him were successful.

As I said earlier, I'm still not sure what to make of Jack at this point.  I should have a better understanding after the Jets game.

I would characterize him as a rookie learning.

That is succint and accurate.

You put in two words what it took me 2+  paragraphs to write.

Well done!
