bcc is a joke

Well one good thing came of this. I got a new twitter person to follow!

Probably the death nail for Alfie and his "fan site".

 

I imagine he alienated any contacts he had built up with the organization.

 

His narcissism is catching up with him.

Alfie and the phrase "jump to conclusions" go hand-in-hand.

No.  His "apology" contains an outright lie.   He apologizes, but in his apology he lies about what he actually said. 

It wasn't just Hank Jones, it was the entire staff. Check their twitters( if they did not delete the comments yet) and their comments in all the articles leading up to Skuta's charges being dropped. It was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, childish and frankly, disappointing that one of the leading Jaguars news sites would act so negligent and careless over a story when all the facts were not presented. It honestly takes credibility away from BCC as a news site. No true news format would act so judgmental before all the facts were presented. You report the news and once all the facts are presented, then you can right an opinion piece on what happened. Thats what should of happened, but Alfie and his minions decided to be the PC police and the judge and Jury and prosecute Skuta before all the facts came out. 

 

Everyone knows that NFL players are high profile and they all need to be very careful when they go out for a night on the town. This is not the first nor will it be the last incident where an NFL player is accused of something he simply did not do. They really need to be careful because people will do anything for  money. Theres been many cases of false rape charges or assault charges etc because people see them as a quick buck. People are terrible, and that happens. 

 

Its nice that Hank apologized but even in his apology, he had too much pride to admit his full guilt. BCC has always been very opinionated and I put up with it because I also enjoyed a lot of their Jaguar related news. But lately, ego and bias has gotten out hand over there. It started out okay, but over time it has gotten frustrating to the point where I dont post or use them as a daily site anymore. Opinion articles are fine but when you make your opinion as fact and belittle anyone who disagrees with you, I have a problem with that. Thats what Alfie and his minions do. They will berate you, harass you and make fun of you if you simply disagree with them and offer a different opinion. I also dont enjoy their political slander they use a lot now in articles. I feel that politics and sports should be separated but its clear who they support and if you disagree with that, your an idiot as well. 

 

For me, this incident was the last straw. I have stopped using them entirely except an occasional glance at the headlines. I am disappointed because I actually used to enjoy BCC. Something I do like about them is they all are die hard fans and do a lot to promote the Jaguars. I can respect that and it makes me happy to see them try their hardest to rally the City behind the team. Its just so unfortunate that they are letting their egos and bias ruin their site. 

 

I suggest new writers at BCC, I think a change is needed to keep egos in check. 

There are plenty on this board who subscribe to the BCC knee jerk reaction approach, so it's no wonder that site still gets enough clicks to sustain itself. Alfie and his fan boys love to ridicule anyone who disagrees with him mercilessly on Twitter.


I've always come away from a BCC visit thinking it was more or less a sloppy seconds site. Rarely are they reporting something they've identified themselves. It's usually "ESPN said..." or "Vito reported..." The fun part is when Hank gives us the inside sources scoops that usually come across more like "voices in my head told me" with zero level of accuracy.


They had a golden opportunity to be a great outlet for Jag fans, but I think that was squandered once the fan boys overtook the site and turned most discussions into an "Alfie, you're so cool! Will you respond to me on Twitter to get the other needs jealous?"

Alfie is full of himself, and there are plenty of sycophants to defend him there. They also tend to discuss topics that are initiated elsewhere. But there is also some original content that we don't see elsewhere. Hank Joness posted some very good weekly video analyses last season, and someone else (who's name I can't recall) did a nice weekly statistical analysis of the games. I strongly disagree with Joness' statement on Skuta, and the BCC gang's lies about what was originally said have made me rethink my opinion. While I frequently disagree with Alfie, I had not thought him to be a liar until now.
