While at the gym I saw Kristofer Hivju AKA Tormund on a Wyndham Resorts commercial on TV. I couldn't hear it and the closed caption wasn't on for commercials. I just thought it cool that a company thought enough of his celebrity from GoT to offer him a commercial deal. And he has his long hair and beard in it too, but he's cleaned up and in a suit which was kind of weird. Lol.

He is a popular dude.

He's hilarious in those commercials. He's going to be in a movie called the Last King. Not sure if it's a theather release film or maybe something you can catch on Hulu or Netflix down the road. But it could be good seeing him in a more leading role. This movie is about Vikings too I think.

I'm waiting for the first adult film parody of the Tormund/Brienne romance.

Hahahaha. Yeah, that would be interesting.
I've started to go back and re watch from the beginning. Things make a lot of since more and more.

Yea what I find is a lot of the earlier stuff makes more sense now that the story has progressed.
I started rewatching it around the time season 6 started (maybe a little before), finished it a few weeks ago and for me season 4 is still the best season imo, 6 came close to surpassing it though

What stuff makes more sense now to you? Just curious.

D&D carried over a lot of the foreshadowing the fans loved so much and presented in a very non ham fisted way. Though that seems to have tailed off a bit towards the end of this past season of course.

It's more what we have learned so far in the whole story, and then going back and seeing it from the beginning, you see spots that were either hinted or played out that had that connection to the story later. Nothing in specific I could point out, speaking more in a broad term I suppose.

Like in the first episode when Dani got into the hot water and the slave girl was like No, it's too hot! And Dani didn't even feel it.
I decided to re-read the first book and the amount of foreshadowing going on is incredible.  Reading through the series and being up to date on the show, some of it seems very plain now but at the time was difficult to see.

Exactly!
Read through the books and there are amazing chapters.  The show didn't do the house of undying justice.  The show didn't do the Jon and Halfhands relationship justice.  Dany becoming a Khalessi in the books is amazing.  Neds fever dreams in the books is amazing.  The chapter written through the eyes of Ghost as Jon is amazing.  The first time Bran climbs in the book we are given the details of Winterfell entirely.  The show gives pieces of all of those things but never do it justice.

While I agree with you, It's really not fair to compare the two IMO. The two formats have their owns strengths and weakness. TV just does not lend itself well to the minutia that can be explored in great detail in written form. It is known.

true why do you need Bran describing a setting when you can just do an aerial shot.  Can't show Neds dream without giving away a big reveal, same with Dany in the house of the undying.  The halfhand portion was butchered in my opinion on the show, it ended well but deserved more build up.  I'm a huge fan of both, I'm just not a fan of the show taking shortcuts on important plot pieces.

Same w/ Reek/Ramsay or Arya seeing Varys while chasing the cat and a whole slew of other events where people are alluded to or straight hidden from the reader but show obviously because TV.
How many more months do we have to wait..
