Quote:There has been a lot of buzz around CLE not going QB for a while now. Not sure why people think it's a lock. Funny how people are locking in Goff/Wentz 1 and 2 with Tunsil 3 without a doubt.
If Browns go Ramsey, that means for sure Tunsil goes #3 imo. If Browns go QB/trade down and a QB goes, I definitely think it's Ramsey.
Factory of Sadness
RG3 wins the competition then gets injured then the rookie QB is thrown into the fire and underperforms then quickly written off as a bust
Cleveland writes itself
Quote:This helps the Jags! Guarantees one QB off the board!
:woot: yes i can see that point, but...
It also just gave the Titans a ridiculous amount of extra premium picks to which (if they dont screw up) will make them incredibly hard to beat this year and into the future...
Titans on the rise probably going to be the team to beat along with Texans hard year for the AFC South .. Colts show no reason to think that they'll go into the playoffs this year... only on the decline :woot:
As a FSU fan, I watched Ramsey play. He's a great safety. But I wouldn't make him a CB. FSU did that last year, and he was just okay. If Caldwell is intent on drafting a CB in the first round (I hope this isn't the case), better to go with Hergreves. (SP).
My first choice, if he's available, would be Jack. If he's not available, I'd be fine with Tunsil. You could argue that Jack or Tunsil are the two best players in this draft.
My gut feeling is that either Ramsey, Tunsil, or Jack will be available to us. I just can't see Cleveland passing on a QB, given RGIII's history of injuries.
Quote:Well then.
So is it for Goff or Wentz?
If he's smart, Wentz... and develop him like McNair.
If Goff... prayers. Another overdrafted, overhyped qb like the one he just traded away.

Browns willing to trade down from no. 2... hmm...
CB William Jackson III met with Rams, Bengals and Jaguars for pre draft visits.
CB Taveze Calhoun also visited Jacksonville... along with Eli Apple whom visited before them both... Corner is a huge concern in Jacksonville.
Quote:What happens if Tunsil actually falls to 5.. Are we taking him? Very tough decision.
I think signing Beachum buys them some time. To be versatile with the pick and wait til next year if Beachum's 1 year deal doesn't work out.
Would anyone be shocked if the Jaguars drafted a LT in the first round?
Quote:Would anyone be shocked if the Jaguars drafted a LT in the first round?
No. He's a great player.
Quote:Anything is a possibility. Not a likely one but sure it's a possibility. All that shows me is that these draft guys are running out of things to talk about 2 weeks before the draft.
Bingo.
"Hey, check out my new mock after this trade! Let's shake things up"

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the Eagles get into that number 2 slot and get a qb. Just a feeling tho.
I'm a bit late to the party here, but if Tunsil were to drop to 5 would it be wise for the Jags to pick him over Jack or no?

Jack.
I wouldn't take Tunsil because we have Beachum and Jockel. If we didn't have Beachum I would take Tunsil at 5 if he were to drop. Right now we need to focus on the defense. We need DE, LB, and CB. On offense we need a G/C

Interesting take...
Linder is moving to C.
Cann is one G spot.
we also snagged Beachum and Bernadeu (spl?) both can play G and have played it well.
Beachum's recovery from injury is an unknown and Joker is well known.
I have no problem with DC passing on Tunsil. But the thought that an LT with a bad knee and another LT that's just not very good are reasons for not taking the drafts for sure elite LT is nonsense.
There's a new mock that has Rams going QB but then the next 3 picks are Ramsey, Jack, and Bosa....
You really want to select an interior DL guy over Tunsil?
Or... VH3 (As a Gator fan... I don't think value meets need here)
If you're dead set on going defense at 5, with those 3 gone you'd have to reach for Lawson, Spence, or Floyd.
It's simply opportunity cost. No one denies that Tunsil is a top tier prospect, but we have a guy who has 1.5 seasons of top 10 LT under his belt in the past two seasons and is still quite young. Not to mention the fantastic contract that Beachum is locked in to. If he comes back healthy we get a very good LT at a bargain price for half a decade. Don't give up on all that potential to go with a guy who is only a middling upgrade at best, and that's if Tunsil hits his peak. If Beachum's knee doesn't recover then we still have a reasonably passable Joeckel to scrape by this year and we can readdress the position next year, but to do it right now would be foolish on many levels.

This is pretty worst case scenario (I firmly believe both QBs go 1-2 between Browns picking or trading w/ Niners or Eagles), but still yes I would readily take Buckner over Tunsil. At least with Buckner you can play him in 3 spots on the line, a position group that already needs a heavy rotation. His impact would be felt more than Tunsil, who is like a 10% upgrade on a healthy Beachum at best.

In that scenario I'd expect Tunsil to guard, mainly because Beachum was promised a tackle spot. So we have:
Beachum ... Cann ... Linder ... Tunsil ... Parnell
That would be a pretty impressive line.

absolutely not

and how in the world do you know Tunsil would be even a decent guard?
Drafting Tunsil would be a mistake at 5 IMO. Drafting him and playing him at guard would be laughable.

Meh, that would still be an awfully impressive line with a Kelly/Whitehair/Garnett/Westerman at 38 and a impact defender at 3.
