Quote:I'd say no. But after talking with some Chargers fans, apparently they like their O-Line they just got bombarded with injuries last year. Ramsey could most definitely be the guy there. If Ramsey goes, and Dallas takes Jack because they obviously don't need OL help, that could mean Tunsil is sitting their with our top options off the board. Bosa would be there yes, but considering how Caldwell said we went Fowler last year because he didn't love the edge rush talent this year it makes it more worrisome about that.
We just have to hope and pray Chargers go Tunsil. Tunsil's a monster so it'd be tough if he's there and our top guys are gone, but then again the Ravens who need OL help are at 6 and would take Tunsil no doubt if he's there...so maybe a trade down? Although it never happens....so its whatever.
I know Dave said that about this years pass rush class but I bet he didnt think Bosa would be there when we picked. I would be shocked though if SD dont take Tunsil.
Quote:I'd probably take Buckner over Tunsil in that scenario.
Nah take Tunsil, trade Joker to Seattle for a 5th.
Be done with it.

San Diego's biggest need is in their defensive backfield after losing their starting FS and CB in Free Agency. They'll be all over Ramsey if he's available at 3.

I agree. Take the top tackle in the draft and move Beachum to LG.

That's what I'm talking about, offense wins championships.
Quote:Question? Not just to you because i've been seeing it brought up, but why would we go Tunsil with Beachum, Luke, and Parnell at T or even worry. One can be drafted later to develop and unless someone's sliding to backup RT, that just means trade back if no defensive player you covet is there. Outside of losing out on a top 5 player you covet Tunsil falling means nothing but more picks.
Sd and Dal can get 2 of 4: Bosa, Buckner, Ramsey, or Jack. I doubt Clev goes defense at 2.
Because Joeckel is an average at best LT that we likely aren't picking up the option for. Beachum is good when healthy but we don't know how he comes back from injury. Parnell is a beast at RT and he's there for the long term but Tunsil is a LT anyway.
We need to go defense, no doubt, but if Ramsey and Jack are off the board and we aren't enamored with Bosa and think Buckner just gives us what we already have it wouldn't shock me. All i'm saying is be ready for it if SD goes a different route in Ramsey and if DAL goes with Jack. Would be a very unfortunate situation, that's for sure.
Quote:If Tunsil is there at 5 there's no doubt Caldwell will be fielding calls for a trade down because the Ravens will be licking their chops for him. Question is will Caldwell take a trade down if Bosa is also still on the board?
That's where it gets interesting. I just don't know that I see it as likely because Caldwell hasn't traded down yet. He always talks about it but he never does it...so I have a hard time putting that as a realistic scenario.
Quote:that a fact? You have no idea of that. That would be a Browns type move though, take the QB just because.
Just like Shack Harris drafting Reggie Williams after Roy Williams was picked. We needed wr.
Quote:I know Dave said that about this years pass rush class but I bet he didnt think Bosa would be there when we picked. I would be shocked though if SD dont take Tunsil.
Certainly possible, but he just didn't sound enamored with it to begin with. Hard to say you won't pick top 5 next year when that's basically all we've been doing and Bortles wasn't proven yet.
Quote:Did the Rams become dominate when they got the RG3 haul? No and the Rams got more
Rams never had a QB. If Mariota is the guy, this Titans team has a chance to be very strong from here on out.

You could also do a swap with the Ravens, tell them you will take Tunsil or you have other offers for him, there have been a lot of trades where a team goes up one spot.
Ravens need him more then any team in this draft I think they will bite

If you really want to move on from Joeckel, why not just keep Beachum at LT and grab an interior lineman on day two while using the fifth overall pick for a blue chipper on defense?

Rams had Bradford, who I view similar to MM both decent QBs but injury prone, I just dont see MM as some next level Franchise QB

because I don't believe Buckner is a blue chipper or would have a place for us.
You could reach for the best available edge rusher at this point, and I wouldn't be mad at Caldwell for doing so... get your guy and all.
But... Beachum isn't a for sure thing. And Tunsil has been touted as a true blue franchise LT.
Sometimes you just take BAP. Move Joker for a draft pick. Beachum plays LG this season, we don't pick up the LT option and we can still use a mid round pick on a G or C and the interior is fine.
options options options.
I'm good with a lot of scenarios.
Just not Buckner at 5. Never been a fan of the pick.
That's just me tho...

I want us to draft Jack but i'm still not opposed to Bosa either. He's fallen out of favor slightly but IDK. I just already feel content if thats what happens but i still got my hopes up.
As far as Tunsil goes, we can still get one later to groom behind Beachum and Luke so it's not that dire a situation at 5.
Quote:If you really want to move on from Joeckel, why not just keep Beachum at LT and grab an interior lineman on day two while using the fifth overall pick for a blue chipper on defense?
I'm down for this, I like Beachum, but honestly if Ramsey and Jack are gone things are interesting. Tunsil is a beast, he is a special talent. I'm a bit gunshy on OT's in the top 5 after Joeckel but Tunsil is a whole different animal. Crazy how athletic he is at that size and he's just an utter beast.
I'd rather get a guy like Bosa if those two are gone to bolster the defense, but Tunsil is now in play, imo. Alfie and his crew may sit here and whine and say there's no way, but when the best player in the draft is there at 5 and your most likely top 2 targets are off the board, there's a chance. All depends on how Dave and co. feel about Bosa at this point. If Jack and Tunsil are there, or Ramsey and Tunsil, I would be shocked if we didn't go the Jack or Ramsey route though.

Well that's your opinion then. I have my own as well. Watching TEN last year though, Mariota balled out. We'll see how he does when people have more tape on him but if he can stay healthy this team will get good in a hurry. 2 1sts next year along with 2 2nds. Have a top 15 pick this year with 3 2nds and 2 3rds. That's a TON of talent to bring in. Obviously they won't hit on them all, but with that many opportunities they're bound to hit on a few. They already have some solid talent as is.
Quote:San Diego's biggest need is in their defensive backfield after losing their starting FS and CB in Free Agency. They'll be all over Ramsey if he's available at 3.
there biggest need is protecting Phillip Rivers. With Dunlaps concussion history and turning 31 this summer I dont see them reaching for a DB at 3 when they could get great value wih an elite LT prospect to help protect their franchise qb.
Taking Tunsil? What's wrong with some of you?
And you think someone is actually going to trade you a 5th for Luke? What planet are you on?
Good thing we won't have to worry since Tunsil will be gone by the time we pick.
