Quote:Gotcha. Yeah, until there is a higher demand for tickets and perhaps even a wait list, I see more people taking this approach. I already know 6 or 7 people ditching their season tickets for this approach next year.
Another advantage of this approach is you are not stuck in the same seat each game which permits you to buy a seat in the shade, or sun, or under an overhang when the weather is a factor.

If you persevere through something, and come out on top, it surely has special significance.

I think that holds true with anything, whether it's a job, a relationship, or anything else.

It doesn't mean it's a gold medal moment type of deal, buy it surely has significance.

When the God forsaken Red Sox finally won a World Series, I bet the fans with season tickets for decades knew it was still more than nothing.
It means nothing and I don't care what you say. Fans that watched games on TV had the same feeling as people who were in the stands. You're not a superhuman if you go to games and you don't instantly become some sports freak that feels more special than everyone else. This is sports dude - not a relationship, not a job, not anything to do with the real world. This is sports, and you have people here trying to say you're a lesser fan because you don't have season tickets. Half of the people here have never been to more than five games, and the majority don't even live in Jax. I attended for 12 straight seasons and not once did I look down upon my friends that didn't want to go. I didn't have a built up ego from attending games live, and wins/losses feel the exact same sitting at home.

But you and the other guys can continue wasting your time with this discussion, keep at it.

Why do you put your location as Teal City? You should add Teal City...only if they win.

I must disagree somewhat. Watching live vs on TV is different. You feel part of the action, the team, the 12th man, etc.

If you feel it's the same on tv that's fine. Just like watching Cinemax skin flicks vs doing it live. Some like live, some may like the tube. To each their own

1. Why? I live in Jax

2. Yeah, its hotter and no commercials

3. What 12th man? Crowd hasn't been good since 07

4. It is fine, cause i'm fine with it.

"It means nothing and I don't care what you say except I'm about to tell you how much I care!"

So sensitive... Just cuz you are a couch potatoe fan doesn't mean you can't one day become a superfan. Some people just weren't meant to be good fans.
People on the internet argue about the stupidest things.

So you are saying that it means nothing, meaning you can place yourself in the position of those that have stuck it out, and understand something you can no longer experience (because of your qualification of the team's performance, or whatever.)

Makes sense.

I know there is nothing in life that is more rewarding after making it through the tough times. Perseverance is overrated.

I, for one, know that when this team wins the Big One, the limited amount of fans that have been around since day one should be mocked and ridiculed.

I don't care what you say!!!! Whoo hoo!

Btw, fans that watch the games at home do not have the same feeling as those who are there. Different World of experience. Anyone knows this.

The euphoria of 60,000 or so people cheering as one, when mjd broke that screen against Cleveland, Mike Thomas and the Hail Mary, 59 yarder, Fred breaking the 80 yarder against Carolina (seeing how happy Fred was towards the crowd after that was awesome) ---375 game---,

Not stuff that translates. Never will.

Oh...I don't care what you say!!!!

I was there for 12 straight years. I know exactly how it feels, but keep telling me that I don't know.

Sounds like it feels spineless and sackless.

You see, a spine is what carries you through the hard times, for better or worse.

A sack contains your perseverance, not the "burden" of what your spine has carried you through.

I suppose when they give, they give.  To each their own.

Besides 99 and 07, every season was a hard time. You act like I quit on the team when it got "bad". It was bad or awhile and Gabbert was the last straw.
Damn, dude doesn't want to buy tickets anymore.

Burn him at the stake!!!

Better hope I don't give up my tickets for whatever reason. Then I'm "not a fan", and "have no sack". Really? [BLEEP] guys its a football team. Get a life, a wife, and live a little.

Should have stopped right there.
Quote: There will be plenty of tickets available when we become above average again, and I will rejoin at that point.

The very definition of bandwagon "fan".   :whistling:

I'll renew.  Depending on what happens with the renovation I may or may not move out of the clubs, but either way, I'll be there.

I am very directly telling you exactly that.

You will never know what it is like to have stuck it out and seen it through.

That's fine, your call, so be it.

But you don't know, and you never will.  (Thank you, Jim Mora)

That ship has sailed.
The distinction I am trying to make here, is not that you aren't a fan if you just watch on TV, or only go to a handful of games.

What I am saying is that it MOST CERTAINLY it means SOMETHING when you stick it out through the bad times, go to every game...

You may not even get a lapel pin- but it means SOMETHING, most importantly, to yourself.

This goes back to the whole "you can still be a fan without being a season ticket holder" argument.

Nowhere did I say I would stop attending games.
Websters: Fair Weather Fan

When you state you wont buy a ticket due to a player, coach, etc and will buy only if they start to win

So there is a huge difference between fair weather and bandwagon fan. Got it.

1.What has Jax have to do with Teal then?

2.Too hot? Ok...some can tough things out more than others

3.12th man has nothing to do with overall attendance

4.You'd rather watch Cinemax than actually participate. At least your hand is getting a good workout
